Great info, Linda; thanks for sharing!  Interesting that, with the chassis and other changes from 2019, none of the OCCC figures changed.

Am I the only one, or does your stomach feel sick when spending that much money?   ;D

Oh yeah, all excited, but still queasy.  Right now it's easier having just conceived her, but when the baby is born the big money comes.

Interesting article on the new pushrod V8. I really like our 460 for low end torque. This seems similar but modern.

Nice article. Wish the new engine was being paired with the 10-speed transmission. Perhaps in the future?

I believe you may be correct Greg.  However, I do know when I saw it the price was the same as it is now.  Christian added a massive beefed up rear hitch area because he tows a large jeep for off-road use.

Can you tell us what the price of the optional Smart Driver-Assist Technology Package is?  Those are some nice features that I really enjoy in my Subaru!

Thanks, Azam! $1300 seems very reasonable to me as well. I can tell you the emergency braking feature in my Outback has probably prevented an accident twice so far, both times in congested freeway driving, so I would gladly pay it! Not to mention the adaptive cruise control feature is awesome!

We have a ton of equity in our home that is paid off. Running the numbers.
We love our '95TK but need more room for those 4 month trips.
Good to hear I can order a second panel.
I'm 63 and my wife is 60 so this would be our last motorhome I think.
We like to take 3 to 4 month trips and littler ones throughout the year.

Talked with my mechanic buddy.
He said the TorqShift transmission is bulletproof and he said he'd not want the 10 speed in its place.
We discussed the new 7.3L coming. He's anxiously awaiting it also but concerned about buying the first year until real world testing.

I found two pictures of the interior cab.  When I ordered, I asked Todd if I could get the grey interior.  That was another of his nope, we don't do thats.  So the interior will be beige as always.

I'm curious what the two temp gauges are for.  Engine and tranny?

Driver assist features would be primary reason if we ever upgrade from our 2003MB.  Everytime I take a road trip in a car with adaptive cruise and lane keep assist, I think about how much nicer RV trips would be with those options.

For those with a Mid-Bath, it's possible to fit one large panel in the space forward of the A/C and behind the overcab vent.  It's a beautiful spot and having 1 panel close to the fridge vent simplifies everything.  I have a single 12V 200W panel, but I think it's possible to get a single 400W higher voltage panel in the same space these days.  That would pair nicely with a MPPT controller for a simple but efficient setup.

My '99 cab interior is a mix of gray, dark and light. The pictures of the new Ford 2021 interior look like the same colors to me. Darker gray for the dash, and lighter than mine, but still gray, on the door panels. The seats also look to be a 'Dove' gray. LD usually has their own seat upholstery, to match the color palette chosen for the interior. I don't see beige, a brownish color.  Maybe it's me?   RonB

Sure looks that way. See blowup below, taken from the photos of the new dashboard that LindaB linked to.

And this looks very similar to the dashboard-cluster display on recent F-series pickups. If so, there's a good chance that you could customize the displays using the FORScan utility for Windows. For example, I programmed my F-250 to display the actual temperatures above the standard uncalibrated gauges.

Ooh, I'm going to have to ask more about this when I get my LD.  I seem to have trouble remembering if normal is half way up or a third up on my temperature gauge on my car.  An actual number would make that so much easier.

I see that the way I worded my post made it sound as if that dashboard photo was from my 2019 Ford pickup. It wasn't; it was an enlarged version of the new Ford van dashboard photo that Linda had linked to. I revised my previous post to make that clear, and added a link to the FORScan software. Don't worry, I won't run out of gas! I never let mine get that low.

FORScan is not particularly user-friendly, and the Ford computer settings it can change are complicated and in many cases obscure. Although it requires Windows and I'm a Mac/iPhone/iPad user, I was able to run it from an under-$100 generic Windows 10 tablet that I bought for the purpose. It wasn't fun, but I was able to tweak a few things that annoyed me--mainly, less beeping and chiming.

FORScan is a more or less volunteer effort, and it will probably be some time before it's updated to work with the new vans. If you're computer-savvy and brave, it's worth keeping in mind. Note that in addition to a Windows 10 device to run the FORScan software, you'll need a USB- or Wi-Fi-capable ODBII dongle to let it communicate with the vehicle.

(Note: in addition to the FORScan Windows program, there are also FORScan apps for iOS and Android. However, these are readout-only apps; they don't let you make any changes to settings.)

Depending on how a buyer intends to use this LD, if the reality matches the ad and the engine, and all systems have been regularly serviced and parts, e.g., plugs, hoses, brakes, etc., replaced per the maintenance schedules, it would be worth checking out, IMO. It's overpriced for the mileage (by about $5-7k, IMO), but the seller may be willing to negotiate. I would definitely have a thorough professional inspection done.

The V-10 is a strong engine; if it has been maintained diligently in the past, and a new buyer continues to be 'proactive' with maintenance, it could go another 100k.

YMMV.
2003 TK has a new home
