New to us 1999 27' midbath November 28, 2019, 10:55:40 am Hello, just found this forum a few minutes ago. Looked at and bought a 99 27' midbath Monday. We didn't know of Lazy Daze before seeing it on Craiglist. We are scoping it out now. It was for sale at a car dealer. He got it from a charity that had it donated to them via an estate sale. He didn't know much about it. It wasn't till yesterday I discovered the solar panels. 5 Likes

We enjoyed a 2002 Mid-Bath LD for 13 years and 140,000 miles. Do you have any RV experience? The biggest concern I'd have about a 20 year old LD with an unknown history would be how the roof and window seals have been maintained. While LDs are some of the best build class C motorhomes they still need proper maintenance. The roof caulking and window seals are one of the likely areas to cause problems. Since the framing and much of the construction is wood, leaks must be avoided and repaired if discovered. Do you have any RV repair service near you that could do a thorough inspection of the structure and the appliances?Best,Art

We couldn’t be happier with our LD’s. Unfortunately, when we purchased our LD’s from a dealer who was selling the rig on consignment. The previous owner didn’t supply any maintenance/service records. The sale arrangement included the addition of new tires and I asked if the tire installer would inspect the brakes. Upon taking ownership of the LD,s I asked the dealer if the brake inspection was done and he replied the brakes were within “specs”. To make a long story short, upon taking the rig to Redland’s RV & Truck for some suspension upgrades, we found out the brakes were in bad order and needed to be completely redone. So, please take your LD’ s in for an inspection or check the forum for some expert advise on things to service and inspect.MacmartyP.S. If you didn’t receive the owners manual with you LD’s, the Mothership may have ones for your year. I thank they cost around $75.00. 1 Likes

Sadly though the manual doesn't show things that well and we have had to hunt for stuff. Art, I do think we will need to do some resealing. I will take more pictures. This is our first motor home. I did live in a brand new travel trailer for a few years in the late 80's. I have also done my share of auto repairs and electrical work.

I try to watch CL nationwide at least every other day, and saw this, I believe at a dealer in Plant City Florida. The price was so low, and the pic looked good, so I initially thought that it was just another CL LD scam. But it wasn't written like your usual scam, so I tried to contact the dealer. Too late. We saw it Sunday morning on Craigslist, it had been listed less than 24 hours before. I got there when he opened Monday. There was couple waiting for the dealer to arrive. The guy of the couple was kinda negative and when he heard there was no generator he left. I looked it over, took it for a test drive and then offered him $200 less. The dealer said it was donated to a charity due to an estate/will type thing and he bought it from them. He sells cars and didn't want to deal with it. I can understand. There are a lot more things to look at on an RV vs a car and his car lot is on the small side. So far I replaced the two Trojan T105's. Got them for $108 each at I4 Power Equipment. Had to replace the tires as the dealer had load range C's put on it. Going to replace the skylight, put Eternabond on the roof seams. The HWH leveler is what I am going to look into next. The bathroom fan I haven't got to work yet either. I think everything else works (lots to check). I did notice one more thing today, I might need ball joints. I still haven't put any water in it to test anything that uses water and the pump. The underside looks better than some 2005 -10's I've seen listed. We should be alright for the price. 1 Likes

The beauty of it is that it can be installed in the existing housing, from inside with only a screwdriver. It is available on amazon for $39. One in the bathroom and one in the rear.Then someone changed the bath fan, LD didn't install Fantastic Fans in the bath until 2004 when a single direction, out only fan became available. RIVA does not allow a reversible fan within three feet of a holding tank vent.Our LD's miserable tiny bath fan was ripped out the day we brought it home from the Mothership and replaced with a Fantastic Fan. It was easy, the sealant hasn't cured yet.Larry 2 Likes
