Hello,
I am new to the forum and plan on buying a used lazy daze for RV living in the next 6 months. I have searched everywhere to see pics of remodel ideas for Lazy Daze and have found none. I have read about remodels but, I am very visual. Does anyone know the do's and dont's of remodeling a Lazy Daze or a site that has pics of remodeled Lazy Daze? In the meantime, I will try to learn all I can from the posts. Thank you

Just recently was able to touch a used 2000 rear island bed model Turquoise color scheme . I'm in love  :D
I see now why everyone speaks so highly of this brand. I'm a traveling nurse looking to upgrade from a tt to class C for FT living majority of the year.  Have another 5 yrs before retirement. Hubby is retired.
We want our next RV to be our last.
Currently in New York but plan on doing extensive amount of boondocking between travel assignments out West.
What I would change (eye toward low maintenance) -
Ditch all carpet for very durable flooring. Currently have 2 Bassets that shed soo much they should be naked. Don't want to pack a vacuum. Also planning on young grandchildren.
Change out cab carpet for marine grade carpet or just use truck bed liner. Did this on my Jeep wrangler loved that I could scrub out the floor board then just rinse, mop up with thick sponge. Thinking if sound insulation is needed can cut carpet to fit as in throw rug.
Vinyl upholstery on the couch & 2 chairs. Easy wipe downs.
Change out the sink for one bowl deep stainless steel sink. May have to bath a grandchild or two.
Paint the cupboards white.
Induction cook top instead of an stove/oven combo (prob won't happen can always use oven for storage).

We have used Husky floor mat liners in our 2003 since new, they wash off easily and show next to no wear after almost 17 years.

It is difficult find a deep, single stainless steel sink that will fit and, are importantly, will connect to the drain pipe.
Factory sinks are not vey deep and the drain plumbing is designed around the shallow sinks. BTDT
I have change sinks twice in different LDs and it isn't an easy job, the sinks are glued in with a hard to remove adhesive and the drains are always a problems.
The shower has a high entrance and can be used a bath, after plugging the drain.

An induction cooktop requires 120-VAC power, using the stove will require running the generator or having shore power.
You see induction cooktops in all-electric RVs, usually along with residential refrigerators, the type of RVs that need hookups.
There is nothing wrong with the Factory propane stove and it can be run anywhere.
One of the advantages of a LD is its proven simplicity,  why mess with it?

In line with Larry's comments, the wiring in a Lazy Daze is capable of a TOTAL of 30 amps.  I looked at a three burner 24" induction cooktop at Home Depot.  Each burner is rated at 3300 watts, or 27.5 amps PER BURNER.  So, if you were plugged into shore power, and disconnected everything else, you could barely run one burner.  Boondocking at higher elevations, using your generator, you would not be able to use ANY of the burners.

I suggest discarding the idea of an induction cooktop.

I spent about 6 months remodeling the interior of my 30 IB and am about 90% done with 90% left to do.  :D  I bought material from LD because I wanted to use current fabrics to make the coach look more up to date.  The price was somewhat stiff, but my upholsterer said the quality was excellent.  I also took out all of the green carpet and crummy linoleum and put in a good grade of roll lino throughout.  I also painted all of the walls in the bathroom with oil base high gloss and put in a stainless steel medicine cabinet and smaller mirror.  I later found out that this is the way the factory makes the bathroom now.  Also installed an oak foot ledge because the toilet is on a raised platform.   I have attached a couple of photos of the interior.  I would like to change out the kitchen countertop and put in a 2 burner gas stove.  But that is for another day.

Very nice! Sure makes my '02 30' look shabby.

We had a medicine cabinet with a mirror on our old LD. The new one (2018) has the stainless steel cabinet with a mirror on the bathroom door. Unfortunately I'm so short I can only see the top of my head!

The LD (located in Tampa area) already had a deposit on it ironically enough from a fellow traveling nurse who has an upcoming assignment in Cali. Her purchase was contingent on a mechanic's inspection. So I didn't have the owner's son start it up much less drive it. I was really just there to touch a Laze Daze since I've had no luck back at home in Buffalo, finding one. I was extremely impressed even with the damage to outside.
I could see us living quite nicely in one for both work & pleasure.
I was pressed for time, owner's son was a non-stop chatterbox who kept smacking the interior walls & exterior sides telling me how sound it was. He did let it slip that there was a vacuum issue (engine). Was a tool in the cab which I described to my husband (diesel mechanic). Measures compression.
Later my husband (in Buffalo) spoke with him on the phone didn't really get any answers to his questions concerning the engine. For us the engine isn't such a big deal if the actually coach is in very sound shape. This LD would have to be sound enough to make the trip home to New York.
Next day per owner the other nurse declined decided to go with a new RV.
Let owner know that if it was still for sale when my brother who is a boat mechanic returns from his honeymoon, I'd love to take a closer look. No word back.
After reading Corman's thread on repairing rot damage & rebuilding the back end of his RB I'm glad I didn't whip out my checkbook, lol. It's enough to know that this is the brand of Class C we need to purchase. Also to budget more for a newer model. Have to keep in mind it's gonna be 2020 soon an owning a 20+ yr old RV might not be a good thing at our age.

Currently live for mos at a time in a 2011 23' tt with 2 burner propane stove that I've only used twice in 3 yrs.  Not having a stove just straight counter space would be great. We mainly use tabletop Weber grill daily, an electric skillet for breakfast & sides, 2 or 3 times wk an instapot. An of course coffee maker !
I've seen one burner induction run off of solar.

This LD had what seemed to be a one piece molded counter & sink. Hubby just might have said no too much work.

Other than ditching the cloth on furniture & carpet I was in love.
As a night nurse that dedicated rear bedroom made my heart swoon.

How is the weave on that fabric ? Very closed ?
Thinking how hard dog hair would be to get out even with sheets draped over.
I made two sets of slip covers for our dinette both in our travel trailer which I swap out twice a week.
Our boys are Bassetts  ;D
