OK, I think that this is the one for me!   other than that, it looks pretty versatile and is priced reasonably. Kind of heavy at 64 pounds, though....
Rad Power Bikes RadRunner Review - Prices, Specs, Videos, Photos

That is the lightest Rad and it has plenty power with great range.
These bikes are heavy, find a rear bike carrier that uses a ramp, like a motorcycle carrier.
With the throttle, it can be powered up the ramp, with care in the low speed mode.
Put a box on the rear rack and carry the dog.

Thule makes a rack with a built-in ramp that folds out that my friends have. Here is a link: Thule EasyFold XT 2 | Thule | USA I've seen it and it works, but it's somewhat of a Rube Goldberg design. Last I knew REI sold Thule racks if you wanted to see one.

I think it would be relatively easy to make a ramp for any rack out of piece of oversize PVC that was cut with a table saw in half lengthwise. Then you could attach it to the rack with bunji cords for easy access.

Hope this helps!

I ran this by the princess; her take is that there will be no transportation in a box! Perhaps a properly-outfitted sidecar?  ;)

You should have told Leah that she would have her own chauffeur driven mobile throne, with her sitting high to survey her domain.
She's a high class dog and might have gone for that line. Her loss.

fyi tried fitting a Thule T2 on my MB Sunday and it wont work with the stock hitch (reciever) without an extender. Thule makes great racks. i have them for cars. I will do a little measuring and see what it will take to make the T2 work. Its a great rack but it still requires lifting the bikes onto it. My bikes vary from 12 lbs to 50+ ebikes. I need to do a little research into the XT2. Good info thanks. And the trailer as well, i never thought i would be that guy but I am trying to find a way to carry our hound. Gees, must be me getting old when i want to take our dog with us. :)

After investigating different racks, a Hollywood folding rack, built for the added weight of e-bikes, was my choice.
Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 2 Electric Bike Rack - 2" Hitches - Frame...
The rack sits farther rearward than needed, so the insert has been modified to fit closer to the LD.
The bikes partially block the tail lights so an additional set of tail lights will be added to the rack and be powered from the Factory four pin trailer plug. Now, I'm trying to make it more secure from thief
Photos coming soon, when it's complete.

No dog-hauler bike trailer; if I got an e-bike, it would be for use when I'm traveling/camping. No way (that I want to consider) of carrying a "trailer" on the rig.  :(

"Creativity RV" on YouTube by Robyn did a series of ebikes which was really helpful in choosing.  She goes thru everything on each bike and then does a comparison episode.  She is a fulltimer on the rode and I enjoyed her episodes.

OK, I think that this is the one for me! The sell feature of a "skirt guard", essential for keeping chain throw off one's dress, is not a draw - I burned all of those when I retired! - but,  other than that, it looks pretty versatile and is priced reasonably. Kind of heavy at 64 pounds, though....

This looked pretty nice save for the single-speed gearing. As the reviewer pointed out, it was harder to pedal at slow speed, and required more vigorous pedaling at max cruising speed. — Jon

Thanks, Jon; I didn't pay attention to the single-speed gearing/"vigorous pedaling required" note!

If multiple gears and front shock are desired, for $200 more, the RadMini and Rad-Step Thru are better choices.
That said, these are throttle bike and taking off is as simple as twisting the throttle, Something that will be necessary at times with the singe speed and the bike's weight. All the Rads are very heavy bikes, 62-lbs, with the 8-lb battery removed, a lot of weight to lift onto a bike rack. Our bikes are in the 50-lb range and still feel heavy.

More expensive e-bikes are usually much lighter and have a higher quality component packages.

I received my Lectric XP. I've only been able to do a short driveway test at my Mother's house but I'm at a state park for the next few days and will get to give it a good ride.

One issue I have is that it is too heavy for me to lift into the back of my Jeep. Even with the battery removed. Plus my Jeep is lifted so that's even more height for me to overcome.

I broke down and purchased a bike rack which I can switch back and forth between the LD and the Jeep as needed. I brought the one suggested by Bob Wells from CheapRVliving. It can carry two bikes but I have it set up for one since I travel solo.

The bike rack I'm using looks similar and has the same issue as your rack, the tail lights are blocked when used on the LD or Jeep.
This gives the police and highway parol a good excuse to pull you over.
I'm in the process of adding tail lights to the rack that are visible when a bike(s) is carried, I'll post photos in a fews days when finished.

Here you go.

The rack is e-bike specific, made for the extra weight.
Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 2 Electric Bike Rack - 2" Hitches - Frame...
The rack sat too far rearward and was modified, moving it 5" closer to the LD. The bike rack receiver was moved upward 5" to provide better access to the towing ball and more ground clearance .
It now sits 1" off the rear spare tire cover, when the rack is in the folded position.

Bought a pair of waterproof LED tail lights from M4 LEDs and used a coiled trailer umbilical and plug to supply power from the LD's tail lights. Now, there are multiple tail lights to view, more than enough to satisfy the highway patrol.
With the cord and plug, the rack can be removed for use on other vehicles that are equipped with a standard 4-pin trailer plug.

Larry,
Nice job modifying and installing the bike rack and tail lights.  As usual... very well thought out and done professionally.

From the pictures, it looks like there’s a second 2” receiver just to the right of the ball hitch.  How did you do that mod?  Are there pictures available?

Hi Larry,

I see you chose a Raleigh Ebike, is it the Lore model?  If it is, it is the same model I purchased last year.  It is a great choice, I am sure you will enjoy it..............

Many years ago, a second 2" square receiver was added, under the rear bumper on the passenger side, for a bike rack.
Base plate | 2" receiver | lw5315us | Flickr
Base plate bolted to bumper | lw5315us | Flickr
It was offset to allow easy access to the ball hitch for pulling the Jeeps.
The old rack didn't work well with the e-bikes so I bought a new, folding rack,  made for the weight and size of the e-bikes.
Once installed in the bike rack receiver, it was obvious that the new rack sat too low and blocked access to the ball hitch. Utilizing the existing bike receiver as a foundation, a new insert was made with the new receiver 5" higher.
I bought a 2" receiver and used a couple pieces of 2" square trailer hitch stock to build it. The new, upper receiver is also bolted to the top of the bumper, making for a very solid hitch. The new receiver was drilled in four spots where 9/16" nuts were welded to it. Fitted with bolts, the receiver clamps the bike rack firmly with no movement.

I have a 2018 Raleigh Tokul, it's very similar to your Lore, same frame and front shock and much of the componentry.
The Lore is the next level up with a larger battery, a motor designed for speed and some upgraded components.
The Tokul is outfitted for trail riding with a lower geared motor, where the Lore is more of commuter bike, with street tires. Change the tires and the Lore is a mountain bike.
The Lore is a Class 3 bike with a 28-MPH speed limit , the Tokul is a Class 1, with a 20-MPH speed limit. I can easily pedal to 20-MPH and then it hits an imaginary wall and the boost cuts off.
20-MPH is fast enough and more speed would burn through the battery faster.  Faster also hurts more when you fall.
See you at MB.

We have friends that have gone "E" and I have been razzing them mercilessly. LOL
I told them why not just get it over with and get electric wheelchairs? They dont see the humor. Really though I think if we ever get to the point where we cant ride real bikes I'd opt for one of these. Very stable and lots of storage area for oxygen tanks, heart paddle defibrillator and  a change of diapers. ;D
Actually these look pretty cool and you could bring a lunch in a small ice chest with cold beers. Maybe even your little dog.

Gets great reviews and kind of makes me want one but don't tell anybody! LOL
