Selling my LD
I've listed my LD for sale. I listed quite high to test the waters, figuring I'd get much lower offers and could negotiate down.

Everything here in the Bay Area is so much higher than the rest of the country it makes it hard to appeal to a wider audience because people from outside the area usually don't get just how expensive it is for basic repairs, etc.  So I can only hope someone local  is looking for an LD.

That said, all the mechanical stuff has really paid off. I've been driving her more recently (went about 40 miles yesterday) and no longer have the apprehension I used to when taking her on the freeway. She drives really smooth, and goes much faster than I ever imagined.  Several times I found I was going 75 mph without realizing it and had to slow down. I actually felt comfortable in the middle lanes because I was passing everyone in the slow lane. For the bay area, where 65 mph on congested roads is the standard, that's pretty good.  Also finally realized it's ok to put the pedal to the metal when going up an incline. I was afraid to do that before, but after my dad told me that was fine for short distances, I found out she can do 55+ going uphill. That's with empty tanks, so can't say when full, but considering I thought she couldn't do better than 35 mph uphill, it was pretty exciting.

Sad to have to sell, but so much other stuff going on in my life, I really want to simplify and reduce my responsibilities, and tired of dealing with neighbors complaining about her parked on the street. Rent is just too high here to also pay for RV storage. Particularly when I don't know if, or when, I'll really have an opportunity to use her.

Wish me luck!

Lisa,

Congratulations on all they you have accomplished with the LD. Your situation reminds me of a “Brave Moment” to move forward as seen in this clip from “You’ve Got Mail” https://youtu.be/PfyVLikrBB0

All things considered-You’ve done really well. All the best in the future. Perhaps one day Lazy Daze will draw you back into the LD FOLD.

Fair weather and safe journeys.

Selling it does not necessarily remove you from the FOLD, you just become an alumnus till you buy another one.
See you down the road.

Lisa,

It’s only this. You have worked hard to forge forward with your endeavors to make your LD work for you. You’ve dealt with many obstacles and overcome all of them.

You’ve made difficult choices throughout the entire journey. You have, apparently, realized that it is time to move on after all your hard won battles.

It is a strong person who is willing to step back from the journey and take a new path. You have done admirably and have made a difficult decision.

After your long journey, I believe you have made the brave choice to pass on your beloved LD to someone to carry on and embrace all that you have accomplished.

Whatever your new LD will be if ever there will be one, it is sure to be well loved.

You’ve done very well.

Aw, thanks. That's really nice.  I was stuck on the old lady saying "you have nothing..."
I love this community. I really do.   I've encountered very few online groups with this level of support and truly helpful advice.

Let's see if I can find a buyer before talking about my future LD! But yeah, I'd never consider anything but a Lazy Daze for a class C RV.

Since i am considering a LD and selling my 2018 Airstream 30' Serenity, being a newbie on this site, what is the most common size LD sold considering there are three lengths ? Just my wife and companion dog along. Airstreams are awesome, just want to make a smaller foot print going down the road, and my wife said she would drive this coach, but not a travel trailer and 3/4 diesel truck.  Airstream has two interested buyers now.

The Mid Bath is the most popular model, therefore I think it's safe to say that 27' is the best selling length.

Luigi123,
The midbath (MB) is most popular.  I think the TK (twin king) (same lounge area in the back) is next but I am not sure - the factory would know for sure.

BUT you want to get what works for you to live in - for some those models are not their favorite at all.  Since there is high demand for LDs in general, it seems all the models (in good condition and priced right) get sold quickly.

Going to a get together near you is a great way to check models out - there is usually a time set up for people to show their rigs and many owners will gladly share theirs anytime.  Often you can find someone nearby that will show you their rig also, when we were checking out rigs we had a handful close by that offered to show their MB to us.

"...what is the most common size LD sold..."

That's a loaded question but far from the 1st time it's been asked on this forum.

What you need to consider is how close you wish to be or how often you will want your own space. Some folks are early risers, some not so. Also the question might be do you desire a discreet bedroom, one where you don't need to make the bed (rearrange the furniture) morning and night. While some folks are intimidated by the 30/31' others (myself) have no issues with the longer coach.

Before I placed my order in 2004 I had done a lot of research, including a visit to the factory to scope out the possibilities. While there Ed Newton engaged us in conversation and commented that the 30' was "too big" for the wife and I, recommending the 27' instead. Now fifteen years later I'm still in love with the 30' even though I'm solo now.   ::)

"...was the 30-footer your first class C?"

First Class C = yes!

First RV = no!

Previously I owned a 30' Holiday Rambler TT and towed it with the Ford E350 Window Van, overall length 50'. In the ten years I had that rig (paid in full by my employer with monies from unused sick leave and vacation time) we went to Alaska once, Upstate NY, Mass., Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Missouri, Mississippi, New Mexico, Arizona and Texas a couple of times. I didn't let any grass grow under the wheels!   :o   ;)

OMG. That would be like driving a big rig. Actually, not "like," that IS driving a big rig. I can't even imagine what driving something that size must be like. The thought gives me anxiety and makes me laugh at the same time. People would be driving as far away from me as possible.
