All We Have is Now
A very good friend of Margee’s, who she’s known for over 50 years suffered a severe stroke yesterday.  His right side is paralyzed, can’t talk, and he can’t see out of one eye.  He was healthy the day before the stroke and had travel plans.

Enjoy today, enjoy now.  As we all know, that’s all we’ve have.  We have now.

(Point is to delay our RV dreams is not now).

Agreed, Ed.  When I was much younger, I dreamed of hiking to the top of Half Dome in Yosemite.  I kept putting it off.  Now, it will never happen.  "Tomorrow" is not always an option.

Sympathies to Margee.

I worked for years at a physical rehabilitation hospital. While some folks continue to have major deficits, others regain quite a bit. Long, often slow process though

I climbed it at 62 and thought I could do such things forever. Six weeks later I was diagnosed with stage 3 inoperable cancer. Yup, you never know. Just do it!  — Jon (chemo and tons of radiation saved the day, so far!)
(Former) ‘06 TK “Albatross.” And (former) Vespa 250.   Alas, no more; both are gone.😕 Great memories remain! 😄

JUST DO IT  is more than just a slogan.  We are now coming to the end of the twelfth year of my husband's 2.5-year "death sentence".  Possibilities have been limited from pre-cancer days, but not entirely put aside.  Dreams and Google mapping help, and once in a while, we actually go somewhere.

The Lazy Daze is now too much for him, so we got a Pleasure-Way Class B that can sit in our driveway for a quick getaway should the infusion gods smile in our direction.

DO IT NOW !!!

We came late to the FOLD.  After decades of travel trailers, we opted for a MH and Mary's research led to at 31 IB delivered 4/14.  We expected 10 years use before reconsidering travel options.   A year later, a diagnosis of advanced ovarian cancer led to  2.5 years of traveling between chemo and surgery.  Our last trip finished after Labor Day 2017, and she was gone in October. Would have gotten the LD ten years earlier.

And along that same line of thought you might like to glimpse a snippet of the real world. The campground in the link is one of my most favored and I have spent many happy and safe hours and days and weeks in site #12. In fact, LazyBones2 and I will be headed straight to that location first thing in the morning. Am I worried? Not at all, this was a once and done. At least the perp is no longer with us.  ;D

It is an inescapable fact that for every day lived, puts us one day closer to the day we die.  Whenever that may be.

Do it now is very appropriate.

Yes! I love this thread! This is why my family bought our LD when we did. The kids and I took a 6 month trip our first year. We travel when we can, and we are planning a long trip again next spring. I will be 50 before the end of next year and my kids are still young. I want them to have lots of good memories and experiences while they are still young and while I can still keep up with them. Any time my kids say “I want to go to ..(insert location).” I just reply “Put it in the list”.  As we travel we mark places off of our list. ;)
