Need advice .. thoughts please Dad's LD
First post after reading just about every relevant thread here. Great source of info and a great group of helpful LD owners!  I've inherited my father's '95 23.5 rear bath (front lounge?), E350 (460) and have a few questions if  I could?

Brief (LOL) background:

1) Single owner.
2) Kept in Cali (he lived in San Bernardino) so there's the expected oxidation, etc expected for one kept outside. No dried out seals, etc.
3) No MAJOR damage, a few bumps and bruises, probably less than one would expect for a rig this old.
4) 78K miles. He used it for trips back and fourth to his property in Nevada
5) He had mentioned (boasted) in the past that there has never been a leak, I did my best to verify this by checking all of the places (as suggested in other posts here). It appears to be dry as a bone and this, after some crazy rainfall in SoCal early this year and more Texas spring so far.... does not have a musty smell at all. It doesn't smell brand new either.
6) Everything works, surprisingly well actually. AC blows very cold, furnace blows hot, fridge is cold.
7) No generator.
8) I was not able to find his service records, but he was OCD about his beloved LD. I was able to locate the delivery  information package with all manuals, etc.
9) I had to put new tires on it to drive it back to Texas (Feb of this year)
10) Runs and drives very well, the only rattle was the stove top.
11) Interior is good less wear on the upholstery, and typical carpet wear.
12) The cabinets do show some wear here and there.
13) House batteries will need to be replaced.
14) He mentioned a transmission problem a "few years ago", replaced it.

Research tells me the 350 chassis doesn't allow for optimal cargo capacity and the E450 was much preferred although, I've got to say, it had no issues with the grades on the trip back from California. Even a little sporty! Unloaded of course.

Here's where I am.  I'm not in a position to keep it, although I would like to make a resto project out of it.  So, trying to get a handle on resale, I've seen prices all over the place. The list I've seen showing all the years and asking prices hasn't been updated in some time.  Any advice on how to price this thing, generally speaking of course.

I intend to put the orbital to work on it to get the shine back, clean it up as well as I can, get it detailed, etc. I'd rather not put any $$ into at this point. Fluids etc, were done before I left Cali.

Everything is 100% original, he "customized" nothing.

Any thoughts or suggestions? Hopefully I provided enough info, please let me know if there's anything else helpful I could add?  I'll post the only pics I have, snapped them on the drive back. Unfortunately, there's not much detail.  I'll have it out of storage sometime this week, can take any suggested pics if that would help?

Note: the lower pin stripes are in rough shape, and what I assume are vinyl decals (the 3 big ones on each side) are pretty faded, but have no cracking peeling).

Thanks in advance for any info, I'm aware this is a big ask for a newbie's first post!

Forgot to add: non-smoker, he did have a dog that traveled with him from time to time.
I seriously doubt he ever cooked in it, if so it would have been in the microwave.
I wish I had more first hand knowledge, but I was already out of the house when he purchased it.

An updated (2019) suggested asking price chart is linked on the home page of this message board; you might want to check that for a starting point on pricing the rig. Depending on this particular 1995's overall condition, the selling price could certainly be higher than the "guide" figure listed in the chart.

Good luck with finding the right buyer!

Interior and rooftop photos would be helpful, but save them until you list it for sale in our Classifieds forum. Be sure to use the template pasted in below.

Thanks for the replies and link !

Of the issues I listed above, is there anything I should put some $$ into, to either allow a better asking price, or would it be better to leave it "as is" and start at a lower price?  I didn't actually intend that post that to be an ad ... just wondering where to start in both asking price and anything I should do before listing it.

Bottom line ... it's a really solid RV, but will need some TLC to get it looking it's best. I suppose anyone in the market for something of this age would be expecting that?  I'm torn about selling it, so if a reasonable price is low, I may end up keeping it and making a project out of it.

If everything is in working order, and you want to sell it, treat it like it were your personal vehicle. Detail it; take a good set of photos; list it for sale. You will have to determine the asking price. The guide I provided is only that, a guide.

A few issues that stood out to me were the facts that is had no generator, needed new house batteries and there are no maintenance records. Without any records I wonder if the roof has ever been resealed by the Mothership? My guess is that if you do plan to sell it and want to charge a normal price it should have at least the issues above addressed.

Post a bunch of interior pics for us to enjoy :)

Not much I can do about the generator or service records at this point  ....  being as close as he was to Lazy Daze (30 miles) if it needed a new roof, he certainly would have done it. Of course, there is no way to prove it, unless of course you can tell by looking at the roof?

I'm sure it'll have to be listed below a "normal price" , thus asking the question and providing what little I do know about it.  At the end of the day, I'm just looking for some guidance on pricing it fairly.

Thanks for the input!

Thanks! I'll be cleaning it up and taking pics this weekend.  It'll be my first chance to go over it in real detail, hopefully I don't find any surprises. Example, he told me late last year that the awning had never been out. I can imagine it's either perfect, or a complete mess!

I'd stand back when unfurling the awning for the 1st time.  ;) Hard telling what will eject.

You might do some serious Internet searches for your year/model LD and see if you can find any comps for sale or recent sales.
