Lazy Daze Found in FL. Need someone to check it out.
Hi,

I found a lazy daze in FL at a dealership( 50th anniversary) and wondered if someone could put eyes on it for me?
It seems like I could get a good deal on it, anyone want to help me out?

Maybe this was a trade in and belonged to someone on the forum?

Hi '4running'. How about a link to the dealership? Florida is big enough that it would help to know where it was located. RonB

The fuel for the 2006 is listed as 'diesel'; the last year for a diesel option for the LD on the Ford E-450 was 2005.  :o

Its at North Trail as the previous poster stated.

Its also conformed to be a Gas v10. 324k mi.

They claim they want to send it to auction due to mileage. I'd rather see it go to me, or to someone else on the forum.

Is that color scheme, shall we say -  intentional?

The colors are not my favorite either. It is likely a $3500 unit.

As a 2006 you get the 3v V10 and the better 5spd trans.

It could also have a new engine, its tough to know....

The 'colors' on the 2006 are one of the paint schemes for the Anniversary Edition, i.e., blue and gold, or burgundy/'maroon' and gold.

Thanks Joan. In the media files, on the second page, under owner AndreSuzie, a folder called '_Name That Rig_Morro Bay', there is an unnamed picture of the same color schemed rig. I guess it could even be the same rig.  RonB  http://www.lazydazeowners.com/index.php?action=media;sa=album;in=122

324,000/14 = 23,000plus miles a year or about 2000 a month.  If that's true that's one traveling motorhome.

It would be interesting to learn if it has a new or rebuilt engine. However, for your information, the V10 as used in the E series was the 2 valve engine. 3 valves were in the pickups and Class A chassis. I wonder if the transmission was replaced too

While you do get the five speed trans, the 3V, or three valve head, engine is not installed in the E450, there isn't room for the wider heads. The 3V engines are installed in the F53 Class A chassis.

If it has 324,000 miles, I can't imagine anyone wanting it but an experienced mechanic, even if the engine and trans were replaced, unless it is next to free. There are a lot of other things that wear out. While the engine could be original, the transmission could be on it second rebuild. I would want a huge chunk of available cash in case the engine and trans need replacement. Figure $8000 for a certified engine and $5-6000 for a quality rebuilt transmission . Brakes and rear axles also wear out, a complete brake job can cost $2000+ and a rear axle rebuild $3000+.
Looking for a lower mileage rig would be my suggestion unless you have the skill set to rebuild the whole thing.

I would expect to see this rig soon parked in an industrial zone, the home of another IFT (involuntary full timer)

Larry,

Thanks for the correction on the 3v V10. I think I had forgotten that was the case. The dealership wants 16k for this unit.

It is WAY too rough with WAY too many miles to be more than a $5-6,000 RV.  I think that because I have shown interest it went from a wholsale unit that they had no interest in, to now it must be worth a small fortune.

Stealerships .... they would rather get 4k at auction then sell to a private customer for 6k.

I get it that they are in business to make money, but some of their tactics and policies are hard to deal with.

It's hard to do due diligence when you are drooling over something.  Drooling is also considered a poor negotiating tactic.
