We're looking at ordering a Laze Daze this fall and love this idea!

Wondering if the bench still pulls out to make a bed?

What floor plan are you referring too?
Most, if not all, couches pull out for use as beds.

Was curious if installing a pullout tray like this would impede pulling out the seat in the mid-bath dinette (to make up the little bed)?

We have a 2018 , 27 1/2 foot mid bath. The dinette seat closest to the entry door slides out about a foot when you want to fold it down for a bed or just have a bigger seat and then it goes in to make more room to pass by in the kitchen area.

The pull out will have no effect on making the dinette into a bed.

The pull out tray uses the same storage space, under the dinette, that is normally accessed by lifting the dinette seat bottom.
You can actually store more in the area by stacking boxes or trays in the same area. The pull out drawer, while convenient, slightly reduces the usable space.

There is no access from the top, only through the side door.

"My wife wanted a pullout drawer under the dinette."

Several years ago I installed that very same modification in the locker under the oven in my 30'IB. It has been very useful. But, I also have that same space under the curb side couch that would benefit from a modification like that... Hmmm, how about that LazyBones2 ?? You've got to get your feet wet sooner or later!  ;)   ;D

Years ago, I considered a pull out drawer.  I realized that, if something fell down behind the drawer, I would have to empty the drawer to reach behind.  Also, I would lose inches of storage on the sides.

I found a different solution.  I bought a Rubbermaid Roughneck #2214 storage container. It is 24" long, 16" wide and 9" high, looks like http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/item.aspx?itemid=65505&catid=, and slides in and out easily.  Behind it, I have room for my spare water pump.  To the rear of it, I carry my sewing machine.  To the front of it, I carry a set of Forstner drill bits, filling the space.  The only time I need to get on my knees or use more than one hand is if I want one of those rarely used items on the sides.

It has been in use that way for 10 years now, with no problems and no sign of wear.

LDy Lulubelle's previous family also put a rollout under the stove--really nice to not have to get on hands & knees, & crane my neck like an old barn owl, to see what's in there.

It is certainly dark & cavernous inside that space under the curbside couch, & a rollout would be nice, but the door is not as expansive as the one under the stove...I'm thinking it would require enlarging the access hole/building a larger replacement door in order to access the space along the sides of that locker.

Looking forward to pictures & how-to info when you & LB2 get this project accomplished, so I can learn from/replicate...

"I'm thinking it would require enlarging the access hole..."

That's very astute thinking there Lynne, it surely would waste a lot of space to the sides of the tray profile if it were not widened to take advantage. Perhaps that went into my thinking way back then but you have surely brought it to the fore now.   :o   ::)

Guess I'll just continue to use the small plastic baskets to store stuff, pulling them out one at a time.
