Re: Non-member Classified Listings for 2019 Reply #28 – February 26, 2019, 06:37:20 pm Yea tedeboy just like really low mileage being a great thing. I have a friend that flips RV’s. I have been shocked at some of the 30 year old motorhomes he has had. Some with 20000 to 30000 miles. And nothing works right or at all. And most with zero maintenance. 1 Likes

I think it is a 2003 or newer unit based on the upholstery. The 2002 units were still using the soft fabric that felt like velour. We have the same interior this unit has and it wears like iron. If someone knows the owner they may want to notify them about their advt. Not saying the chassis is not a 2002, but the interior tells me a different story.Steve K.
Re: Non-member Classified Listings for 2019 Reply #31 – February 28, 2019, 06:26:29 pm "I think it is a 2003 or newer unit based on the upholstery."----As you noted, the chassis may be a 2002; the VIN would tell, as would the Ford date of manufacture sticker on the driver's side door jamb. The upholstery is the 'hard' finish, durable fabric, so this particular LD may have been one of the first rigs to get this type, i.e., on the cusp of the changeover. I am aware of at least two LDs whose chassis manufacturing dates were late 2002, but were sold as 2003 models; both have the tightly woven, high quality upholstery from Butterfield. I've seen several newer/new LDs; IMO, none of the fabrics, including the plain 'tweedy stuff , is of the same quality as the fabrics used by Butterfield before they retired and closed the business. As ever, YMMV. 1 Likes

I’m not a fan of it. But I understand they used these to make it easier to get your legs through the gap. I screwed a soft console bag with multiple pockets to the doghouse. Works good and doesn’t look to bad.

Re: Non-member Classified Listings for 2019 Reply #39 – March 21, 2019, 11:42:40 am ^^^^^^ I was thinking something similar ^^^^^^These things do hold their value, so I was wondering what that might have cost in 2004 ? How much more than the $63,000 asking price. I am sure someone on here knows !
Re: Non-member Classified Listings for 2019 Reply #40 – March 21, 2019, 12:07:45 pm The base price for a 2004 26.5' LD was $67,750.00. IMO, an asking price of $62,900.00 for a 15-year-old rig is far past 'optimistic'. The extremely low mileage is not a plus; maybe there's a zero missing and the seller meant 30,000 miles, not 3,000? Even with 30,000 miles, the listed add-ons, and if the rig is a true cream puff, it's 15 years old, and apparently has been doing a LOT of sitting. IMO, a realistic price range is less than half of the asking price. Anything is worth only what it can be sold for, so if someone is OK with that price, go for it. As ever (and really applicable in this case), YMMV. 1 Likes
Re: Non-member Classified Listings for 2019 Reply #41 – March 21, 2019, 01:53:06 pm Whoever wrote the advt. for that 2004 sure got a lot of details wrong. Says it has ducted a/c, ducted heat, and a stainless steel sink. The photos show the white kitchen sink. I think they depreciated it from original cost by around $1 per mile too. Steve K (wondeing if I could get $60,000 for my one year older but much more popular mid-bath floorplan?)
Re: Non-member Classified Listings for 2019 Reply #42 – March 21, 2019, 05:39:39 pm Certainly the price is too high by more than double. My guess would be at best around $26K. It is the newer generator, not my '99 TK's Emerald II. The heat is ducted, (my 23.5 is ducted), but the roof A/C isn't ducted. But of course there are internal guided pathways for cooled and warm intake air paths that are ducts. My take on a 'ducted' roof air conditioner is pathways inside the roof to conduct air to different locations farther from the actual A/C unit. The sink is plastic, the counter isn't Formica, the sheet vinyl flooring isn't 'Linoleum'. The cook top isn't 4 burners, just the three. The 27" TV is the original tube type, and the NTSC tuner is incompatible with the present over the air broadcasts that now require an ATSC tuner. No details are provided on the age of the tires, house or chassis battery. I'm would suppose that the lighting is original without any LED upgrades. I'll bet that the 'towing package' refers to the receiver bolted to the bumper. Still it does have the thermal pane windows. Non problematic spark plug threads in the engine, and apparently provides a 'clean slate' for upgrades. No repairs needed for previously poorly done 'upgrade' work. I wouldn't throw away the CB radio, but it isn't exactly much of an advertising point anymore. The electric step seem to be the only upgrade. RonB

Be very careful when inspecting this LD, it has sat almost all of its life, who knows if it was maintained correctly or if it was stored outside or under cover. Mechanical things like to be exercised regularly, lack of use can lead to new problems, like leaking seals.Sorry, $62,000 is what it sold for new, it isn't new any more, it's a 16 years old RV, with a low mileage chassis..Besides checking for leaks, look at the windows, it is of the right age to have failing double-pane windows.Figure the tires and batteries will also need replacement, as well as the hoses, serpentine belt and all the fluids..Larry 4 Likes
