Newbie LDO wannabe in the Philippines & LD bluebook values?
Greetings from a newbie to anything Lazy Daze, a wannabe someday LD owner, and a retired US expat in Dumaguete Philippines.
     IF I can't handle this retirement into the tropical third world chaos that is the central Philippines (3 years in and I wonder sometimes) I might just become a solo LD full-timer. I've been researching the used LD's, probably a 23' or 26' mid-bath. Every one I've seen listed is WAYY over NADA values asking price, like I mean double or more. If they're so valuable and sought after wouldn't their bluebook values reflect that and increase? Or are sellers just asking crazy high prices and riding their popularity wave in hopes? I want a cool older model but I not gonna just pay anything asked.

Howdy and welcome to the forum. I was just visiting my Dad in Baguio City, Luzon a little over a year ago and didn't see nary a LD there.  :D
Have you checked out the suggested asking prices spreadsheet pinned to the top of the forum yet? It's probably more accurate than NADA.

Welcome to the LDO forum.
As for the NADA pricing, I believe that most of their data comes from vehicle dealer trade-in prices.  Since the number of LDs produced is low and many (most?) of them are resold in private sales, there aren't that many data points for NADA to work from.  And vehicles traded in to dealers may not represent the best units either.  The value of used LDs depend heavily on its current condition and especially its maintenance history.  This forum has had numerous stories of LDs being bought which looked fine, but had hidden damage, especially wood rot from leaking seams.  It is best to have someone very knowledgeable perform a thorough inspection.  For older rigs, it helps to be a handyman and have a reserve fund for repairs.  Buying an older rig has not always  turned out to be much cheaper.  Newer rigs may be more reliable and a better choice for someone wishing to full time.
