Spam Alert
Today I received an email from a Yahoo address, the sender being a member whose name I recognized, but he has since left LDOG
after selling his LD several years ago. The email message asked me to email him back because he wanted to ask a favor. Seemed strange, but I thought he just wanted to make sure he had my correct address. I responded and quickly got a return message asking me to pick up some Amazon gift cards for his niece's birthday because he was not going to be home from a trip in time to buy them. Yeah, sure, and maybe I could pick up a new car for her too!

It probably is coincidental that this attempted scam concerned LDOG members, but I felt I should mention it just in case someone else falls prey. It may have been a Yahoo issue since it came to my Yahoo address.

Interesting. Trying to post to this thread but nothing happens.

Oh there it goes. Thought the SPAM had infiltrated the ranks.

Chris, whenever I bring up this site on my new iPad, while logging in, the address bar in red lettering states “website not secure.”  Not sure why.

This has come up before and here is Steve's explanation: "I have not updated the site to SSL (httpS) connections, so not only is the certificate expired, it does not even exist for the domain (yet).

Basically they are trying to connect via httpS, are being redirected (correctly) back to http site and the browser is letting you know that it was unable to connect to the requested secure socket.

So its nothing to worry about at this time.   I plan to moving things to HTTPS but have been waiting since it causes other issues for the members (ie posting a picture or document or link from a secure site to an unsecure site will cause warnings)"
