Oh, yeah; did that many times in the mid-50s; a few girls could collect enough pop bottles to get a couple gallons of "ethyl" (at 25-27 per gallon) for the 1940 Ford sedan belonging to the father of one of the girls, cut school, and head for the beach. (Much of my youth was "misspent"; I have no regrets.  ;) )
