New vs Used when purchasing
I think we are getting to the point where we want more room and better towing capability than our '95TK.
We're wanting a 27' MB.

We bought our TK used and while I learned a lot I would rather not go through that again.
But then again we could save a lot rather than buying new I believe.

Anyway...what are some of the advantages to buying new over used and vice versa?

I am thinking new you get a warranty and well...it's new!
Used you save a lot but as I notice there is rarely late models available.
The house is paid so we could take out a refi/cash and have the money ready when a used one becomes available but I have looked and looked these past months and when a good newer one becomes available it usually is sold before I can look into it.

Just buy new?
If we buy new what are some "must have" options? Solar definitely I think.

Any opinions?

Guaranteed no bedbugs?   ;D

Kidding of course.

Yes, solar would be a very good choice... but you may want to wait and do it after market. There are several advantages to that, many of which have been discussed on this board. I ordered one panel, soon wished I had two, now have three, but in the interim everything had to be rearranged for a more efficient system.  ::)

The price list mentions the one panel system as stock with the option of adding another one.
I am just wondering if Lazy daze would even forgo solar since they are pretty set on what they sell? And would they reduce the price?

Were I in your shoes, my strategy would be to get on the waiting list AND shop for a very lightly used LazyDaze.  As I understand things, you can then decide if/when a used candidate becomes available.

Is the $4,000 deposit on a new one refundable?

Well Ted; No deposit required until they come up with a chassis for you, so being on the list won't cost you until then. The deposit isn't refundable. If you want a particular floor plan, want to pick outside and inside color, and options then you should buy new. Depends on how picky you are. I just missed by a day, the gray MB that popped up in Beaumont, near me, just a month ago. Someone got a great deal. I, like you, have an older TK, thinking of going just 3 feet longer to a newer MB.  RonB  (it's all those cats! 3 now)

I called them and took your advice and got on the list.
Todd said about 6 months until a confirmation call and then another 6 mos or so to build it.

Come on they updated it already a few years ago.   How many times do they have to........

<smile>

I'm thinking they will update it when they change the body style, paint  or do a major update of some sort.

;)  "Soon" in Lazy Daze land is subject to a broad range of timing possibilities! I would just add 2-3 thousand to the 2017 base price listings; if that turns out to be a high figure, great. If not, one is prepared for the boost. (And, I'd sure investigate the costs and the quality/technology of any factory-added options compared to aftermarket product selection and installation.)

As ever, YMMV.

Base price for a new 27 MB is now $100,250.

Well, I better not buy a lottery ticket; I underestimated the base price increase by a good bit, eh? Thanks for posting that figure!

Pays to shop early. With knowingly little difference between the ‘15 and the ‘19 (six speed tranny aside), we’re up nearly $8,000 on our RB (depreciation notwithstanding).

Time to go Christmas shopping with all the cash we’ve saved.

LDs cost what they cost, and the purchase price is just the *initial* outlay. 😉 With an RV and the associated life and travel styles, one will never lack opportunities to spend money. However, with an LD, the expenditures are more likely to involve add-ons, upgrades,  and “fun stuff”, not cash bleed on re-building, repairing, and replacing “warts” on a new rig!

YMMV, as ever.
