Onan BGE Genset Circuit breaker November 26, 2018, 07:38:25 pm This afternoon suddenly my genset quit generating power. Although I have not opened the front cover yet, no proper tool, I am suspicious about the switch on the side of the Genny. It feels rather loose when switching off and on. Does any one knows of a after-market replacement switch for this model. I like to try this first before I look into the circuit board. Aad

The 'Transfer Switch' could also be at fault. It is responsible for switching from shore power to generator and back. They have been known to freeze on the AC side.
Re: Onan BGE Genset Circuit breaker Reply #2 – November 26, 2018, 10:56:27 pm No, I am not certain if it is the circuit breaker. Since it felt rather loose I used this at a starting point. I definitely will look into the transfer switch too. Thanks so much.Aad
Re: Onan BGE Genset Circuit breaker Reply #3 – November 27, 2018, 06:53:08 pm Lazy Bones,You are correct. Thanks. It is the ATS. After quite a few efforts to see if it is just stuck I disconnected all shore, battery and solar power. Next I removed the screws, pulled the power center forward and opened the top of the ATS box. After turning on the genset and shore power, each individually, I had power to each set of wires. Called Randy at Best and ordered a new A T S. Another learning experience.Aad 1 Likes
Re: Onan BGE Genset Circuit breaker Reply #4 – November 27, 2018, 09:05:06 pm Just a note, I was monkeying around with my gen set and the little breaker on the side of mine is also as you described. It doesn't have the snap action of a conventional breaker.Jon....
