Our Gas Prices (11/18/18) - North Texas
Today we filled up at Costco in Fort Worth for $1.96 a gallon.  That's the best price we've seen in more than a year.  My oil expert friend says we're near or at the bottom of this round of decreasing oil prices.  Nevertheless, we're real happy with this price while it lasts.

It was 2.02 yesterday in Tulsa.  Lowest I've seen in a while.

Gas isn't any cheaper here in Portland $3.19 at Costco a few days ago.    But to be fair we on the west coast use a different gas mixture then you folk in Texas.   And we have a whole different tax system also.

Here in So Cal, prices just dropped from $3.29 last week to $3.15 at my local Costco. It may not do much for the family car but I sure wish I’d have known. Filled up the LD last week. 😖 Prices are actually lower here by 2 cents from about 6 months ago.

Oh well what’s a few bucks here or there?

$2.33 when I left Chillicothe Thursday, but had checked Gas Buddy & nearby Hamilton was at $2.28...I poured in 47 gallons.  Missouri prides itself on a low gas tax, but the Republican legislature managed to put a gas tax increase on the ballot last spring (a constitutional amendment back in 1980 requires a statewide vote on any state tax increase, & our deficient roads & bridges certainly speak to what a mess that has created), but in the midst of our Greitens' mess, none of the legislators, nor Greiten's Republican successor did any work over the months up to the November election to educate the voting public about the importance of paying for safe roads/bridges/etc., so the thing was soundly defeated, which will allow the GOP legislators to claim they're doing the work of the people who don't want taxes raised--God help us when we have a bridge collapse like happened on I-35 in Minneapolis in 2007.

Along the way south prices ranged from the $2-30s to the $2-teens to the $2-60s, & though I'd checked Gas Buddy for some spots, I ended up nearly on fumes in Caddo, OK, & paid $2.45--$30 got me 12.2 gallons  :P , which was enough to get to Northlake, TX, where I filled up & over for $2.03 (how does one put 53.769 gal in a 50 gal tank...makes me question the accuracy of those state certification stickers???   :P).  It was $1.99 as I came on down through Joshua, but then back up into the $2-20s to $2-40s through Cleburne & on south.  There is little variation in Missouri (we have no state consumer watchdog agency, & how do you prove collusion beyond just anecdotal observations that everybody raises/lowers within minutes of each other in our little burgs up in the boonies), but it's quite amazing to see a difference of 20-30 cents within just a few blocks in some of the towns I pass through along the way--certainly keeps my head spinning...

FYI - Gas Tax by State

Fuel taxes in the United States - Wikipedia

As an aside to my aside --  I always enjoy the names a goverment can come up with to rename  a tax to something else.  But as mother always says a rose by any other name is still a rose.

Hi Lynne; Ford lists your E450, 2005 gas tank at 55 gallons. There usually is a chamber at the top to retain some vapor, so that when your liquid gasoline expands when warm, it will have somewhere to go. A lot like the propane tank.  RonB

Say what? From yesterday to just now my local Costco went from $3.15 to $3.09 for a gallon of regular. Just in time for the seasonal scramble for parking space at the mall. Sorry Amazon, the rush is on.
