Just got my new LD home :) November 14, 2018, 06:48:45 pm So this is my first post. I was afraid it might jinx my purchase and long drive from Montclair back to my home in Georgia if I spoke too much about it before I actually had it parked here. But now that I have safely arrived home, I'm ready to dive right in. It took about a year from the waiting list to pick up, and I'm thrilled with my new LD. It was much easier to handle and drive than I expected. It's just perfect. There was only one small tweak that was quickly taken care of during the time I spent going over the RV with Todd on the day I picked it up so I was happy about that. One item that I noticed during the drive was that one of the little rubber push-in thingamabobs that are in the front corner of the stove cover was either not there when I picked it up or fell off somewhere along the drive. I will have to figure out where to get a replacement to pop in. It is one of the tiny rubber things that keeps the stove cover from rattling. Well, I'm tired from all the driving but thought it was about time I made an appearance. Oh, one other thing, I did get a lot of smiles and waves along the way. Everyone on the road, from people at the campsite in Ehrenberg, to the gas stations (numerous), and other drivers thought the LD was really special. I'll post a picture of the beauty one day soon. -Lou2018 24' TK 9 Likes

Re: Just got my new LD home :) Reply #6 – November 14, 2018, 10:05:46 pm Lou,One more congratulatory welcome. On the stove top. While your issue sounds to be different, here’s a “quick tip” on stove top cleaning. When removing the stove top grate above the burners, there are four grommets (one on each foot of the grate) that secure the grate to the stove top. These grommets have a tendency to follow the grate when it is removed during spillage cleanup. Keep an eye on them during clean up procedures. They are easily placed in the holes of the stove top. Ours have “disappeared” a couple of times. I found them on the floor each time and am now weary of the stovetop cleanup. Just a thought.Enjoy your new LD and welcome to the club/cult 😉Kent 2 Likes

Re: Just got my new LD home :) Reply #8 – November 14, 2018, 11:08:58 pm Those grommets are also pretty easy to push down into the stovetop when replacing the grate. Try lifting the lid, and you may find the missing one.Congrats on your new Lazy Daze! 1 Likes
Re: Just got my new LD home :) Reply #9 – November 14, 2018, 11:56:27 pm Congratulations and welcome aboard the LDO group.Nice 3,000 mile shakedown cruise. If the stovetop still rattles a bit when the grommets come, just put a kitchen towel under the lid. It can go over the stove doorhandle when parked.

Re: Just got my new LD home :) Reply #11 – November 15, 2018, 03:34:34 am Use the link that Larry provided and order several packs of rubber grommets or go to any Ace Hardware (or most any other hardware store) and pick up a dozen or so 1/4” rubber grommets in the bulk “washers” section. These are very slightly smaller than the “official” grommets, but they work fine and are super cheap and readily available; Ace Hardwares are everywhere! I’ve replaced many of these rubber grommets over the years, and carry a ziplock bag of the things in the catch-all drawer. 2 Likes

Re: Just got my new LD home :) Reply #13 – November 15, 2018, 08:56:46 am Congratulations on your purchase. The stove grommet "issue" made me smile. That's probably about it for your new rig problems. Most of the slap together brands end up with a long list of bugs to work out and have to go to the service center several times.
Re: Just got my new LD home :) Reply #14 – November 15, 2018, 10:04:52 am OMG, a comment from Andy! Wow. Not that everyone else that commented isn't a celebrity as well, but that really made me smile. I'm thrilled to be part of the LD family and I am looking forward to joining in on some of the group meet ups. The advice from other owners of our unique brand is very welcome and comforting.-Lou 1 Likes

Re: Just got my new LD home :) Reply #18 – November 15, 2018, 12:43:07 pm "...first you'd have to use the stove ..." Nice try but I can assure you it's been well used! I even trim oven liner trays to shape to make spills an easy cleanup job and I've changed my share of them. Should I go out and look to see if my 'grommets' are still intact? 2 Likes
