27' MB observations & 31' IB vs TB
Wow, lots of info spinning through my mind so as always I would love to hear others thoughts.

27' MB Those rear windows...to me they are the most attractive feature of the MB. Just being able to sit back there and relax while gazing out upon nature's beauty seems almost too good to be true. Based upon my observations of a few vehicles it seems like most folks maintain this rear area as bedding nearly full time. One feature that does not excite me is up front having the kitchen directly behind the drivers seat. The dinette area has this beautiful large window while the kitchen only has the smaller one.

31' IB Those rear windows...leave me unimpressed. I understand why the corners are filled with furniture but this comes at the expense of really breaking up the view. Now I really do love the full time queen bed and being able to walk around three sides. Now while laying in the bed your head is surrounded by wood on either side and above. To me this is a major detractor since while laying down your view is quite limited.

31' TB Those rear windows...seem like a reasonable compromise for my desires. Now we have a nice big window across the rear while the two flanking windows have been slid to the rear since there is no furniture in the corners. A major detractor for me is the fact that the beds are separate. I do hope to marry one day in the future and we will be sleeping in the same bed.

Now both 31s are perfect for me regarding the mid bath areas and especially the fronts. Barrel chairs or a dinette with a huge window right across from a couch with an equally large window - outstanding! My dream would be a 31 with the rear windows from a 27' MB and a queen bed in between. Anyone think I can talk the Mothership into that minor modification?

You might be better off buying powerball tickets to buy a company to build one.  The odds are better.

I love everything about the 27' MB except the inability to recline the passenger seat.

Hi Chet,
My short answer is NO! A longer answer would be HELL NO!

Based on personal experience and from reading the LD message boards, what seems reasonable to you or I, is a big headache to the LD factory. Flexibility is not something they excel at. And I think they would view that kind of modification to be opening of the floodgates for future orders.
As a long term owner of a 26.5 Midbath who considered buying a very gently used 31 TB, as well as looking at many, many other rigs, I have opinions about buying a Lazy Daze for fulltiming. Not sure it is something you want to hear though.

Chet, I think if we could have the layout of the 26IB but the windows of the 26MB rear lounge in the rear bedroom would be the best!  We Love the aquarium feel of our rear lounge in our 98~MB window setup but don't have a queen bed in the center.  Our Queen bed is on the passenger side and only allows walk in access on the drivers side due to the couch which is still there, although you can jump in from the end, as I do, but we can still make two couches in our rear lounge if we want but usually leave it set up as the queen bedroom.  I saw a posting here recently of a 26TB where they had had a queen bed and removed the two twins.  Unfortunately the windows are not the corner to corner windows of the MB!  We spend most of our time out side our rig but when you are in the rear lounge and have rigged as a bedroom as we do, we are not in a hurry to get out in the morning!  We are still trying to figure a better configuration for our dinnet and our front space since we use the overcab bed for our sons or mostly storage.

I can sit up in bed and look out the back window of my 30’ IB if I want but I mostly sleep in the bed so my eyes are shut & can’t see out window that way. I’m not one for laying around looking out windows, I want to be outside exploring and enjoying nature. The other window in the 30’ IB provide great views while I’m awake. 😁 JMO.

As an owner of a 24' TK I love the view out the wrap around windows.  The mid bath is nothing but a stretched TK.  Sunrises,sunsets,clouds, and whatever.  IMO it's THE selling point.   I also prefer the outdoors but on those days...... When one is stuck imside there is nothing better.

We currently have a 30IB and love it.  Yes, the windows are smaller but after having a 27 RB and having to make the beds every night, we quickly got tired of that evening and morning chore.  I love the convenience of having a stand alone bed, and our front windows give us a panoramic view on both sides of the RV. 

Each loves their LD for different reasons and for us we wanted a bed.  I love taking an afternoon nap curled up with my pup as my spouse sits at the table or vice verse.  You will find your preference, I am sure.  Do try to sit in as many rigs as you can and you will find your sweet spot.

  You will have no regrets with those wrap around rear windows, they are a one of a kind in the rv world. I will make that bed every day just to lounge and enjoy that view! All in all, Lazy Daze’s are beautiful.

Hi LindaB,

I view this subject line as Chet's, and he is asking for thoughts regarding getting Lazy Daze to modify a floorplan for him. Since he didn't ask me for my opinions about fulltiming in a Lazy Daze, and I really don't like seeing subjects get hijacked or sidetracked, if you start a new subject asking for opinions about full-timing in a LD, I would be happy to respond.

While it may seem like a simple modification, every wall in a LD is built off a full size template.
The change you desire would require custom built walls or a new set of templates..
As others have pointed out, it ain't going to happen.

Unless your lifestyle includes lounging in bed during the daytime, the windows in a 31' IB seem almost irrelevant.
Since the rear of a 31' TB is usable as a seating area during the daytime, the wrap around windows are, to my point of view, more useful.
In an area used only for sleeping, the lack of windows could be an asset unless you like waking at daybreak.

Do the twin beds in a 31TB pull together to form a king like in a TK?  That might solve Chet’s “future bride” considerations? — Jon

I think that the 31' TB model has "sorta twin-size" beds that are fixed in place/permanent with a table between.  JMHO, but Chet's signature indicates that he already has a MB on order, and since the likelihood of LD being willing or able to accommodate special build requests in any model is in the same realm of possibility as flying pigs, the MB's versatility and advantages would seem a very workable choice.

As I said, JMHO, and YMMV!  ;)
