Repair Facilities in WA
I thought I remembered a data base for recommended repair facilities, but I've been known to fantasize!  Is there such a compilation on this forum?  Where should I look?

In the event there isn't one here,  does anyone have a recommendation for a repair facility, shop or mobile, in the Port Townsend or Olympia, WA or Salem, OR areas?

(Suddenly!  It's been chilly in northern Washington, and my heater [in a 2003 RB] has died.

Thanks for any help,
Lorna

Bummer Lorna!!   In Sequim WA many folks have recommended Eric's RV Repair in the past. Olympic Peninsula RV Repair, Service and Performance Center - Olympic...
They probably aren't open till Tuesday tho.  I'll think about it more if I've heard any other recommendations or can find the list you are referring to.

I'm too lazy to look it up, but isn't there a section like that in the Escapee's Day's End database?

It's been 12+ years, but we had work done on our goliathmobile by Eric's in Sequim with great satisfaction.

Another suggestion is Brazels RV Performance in Centralia WA.  https://www.brazelsrv.com/  I've heard good things about them and I think they have overnight parking for customers.  Check them out on Yelp. Good reviews.

Thanks Judi, Marti and Jim...I have heard good things about Eric's, and Brazels did some mods on my rig many years ago  Thanks for the reminders about those two, and thanks Jim for the WA encyclopedia -- many to chose from.  Here  in Evergreen Coho, Sonny's comes highly recommended.

I really appreciate your responses...and am confident that after the holiday I'll find someone to light my fire!!!

The most common things to go wrong are the sail switch and the control board module (circuit board). I've had both replaced and now know how to do it myself. Wanna send me a plane ticket, Lorna?

Not a fan of Eric’s. I’ve dealt with them several times for parts over the years, always raising my blood pressure, but stayed away for repairs. I have settles on Mobuilt RV | Repairs & Supplies in Port Angeles. A ways from Port Townsend. Also here ther is Peninsula RV, who do well with parts and help, and with whom I have sold a couple of RVs, but would not recommend their service, based on talking with their repair techs.

Good luck, sounds like you are headed south. Oregon is replete with RV places.

Chris, I'd like nothing better than to fly you out this way, even if it was only to gab!!!  The furnace has been "looked at" by two techies here in the SKP park in Chimicum.  One recommended a complete replacement; the other helped me with the nomenclature so I can talk intelligently with the repair shop in Florence (and understand how a sail switch works)!!  Then I made some calls for replacement cost:  About $360. from Amazon; about $775.00 from the LD factory!!

I'll know more next week when I have it looked at again in Florence.

Lorna,
from the glorious Hood Canal, WA

PS  Marta maybe I'll have it checked out at the Centralia shop since It's closer than the Florence shop; thanks for the reference.

Lorna,
We had a leak in our cab that Genisis in Tacoma took care of they really checked back several times to make sure we were happy. We will be taking our 2003 LD there again. They do everything to the rigs and will work on rigs that are older than 10 yrs and we will be taking our rig back for upgrades to this business. Not only because they don't care about age but they really followed up on the repair and were we happy.

We first took our rig to Brazels in Chehalis where the business is nationally known for its quality service but if your rig is over 10yrs old they will not work on it. (especially engines and power trains) and they put in a new 3000 watt inverter the proper wiring size and new coach 6v batteries for our solar panel, fixed the fridge and installed a new AC unit and found our gas leak and repaired it. While they are not the Lifeline brand I think the Decca will last us a good long while. They did not call us to check on their service and were pretty expensive but we will also take our rig there as they did everything except the water leak in the cab which is a ford truck defect. And our used Winnie before had them do all its maintenance by its previous owners and we drove her for 5 years after their service with no issues.

In the Olympia Lacey area there is Combs RV and though I have not had work done there they are good at selling you the right parts. The owner seems a very competent guy and has advised me on repairs and if I can't do it I am sure I would take my rig to him for help. But his salesmen in the store  tried to convince me silicone was good to use for sealing seams...(YIKES) we all know silcone should not be used on a LD. (it sucks that the previous owner used silcone I am now scraping and cutting old silcone off our rig and replacing it with 3M 5200 or if I can find a clear, I think someone said Dap 3.0 crystal clear was polyureathane? Speaking of which I have to find something this week so I can finish my sealing.

We are close as we are in Lacey maybe we should have a small LD rally in PT at Ft Warden or Ft. Flagger this fall? Lana W

I'm confused (not necessarily an unusual condition...); if you have a 2003, and Brazel's did the services listed in your post, how do they not work on rigs over 10 years old?

Joan, don't know maybe I fumbled the number of years old they won't work on maybe its 15 or 20. But they did work on it. Or maybe because its a quality built Lazy Daze. But some friends had a rig older than ours and were turned away. Genesis in Tacoma has no age limit and after our leak repair with them we will go back to them for sure!
