Joan,

These types of exoskeleton suits have been gaining popularity in the world of medical research and physical therapy rehabilitation. Very impressive. Wouldn’t mind having one to help while washing the LD. https://youtu.be/2Ysb-Oko3Bg

I remember early Robotic suits called “Waldow’s”. Your link looks like a scaled down version of this... https://youtu.be/7rgFtkMiXms

Although we’ve seen them in such movies as “Avatar”, I seem to remember their use in industrial applications.

You beat me to it. I remember reading the Heinlein story as a teenager, when I first discovered SciFi.
He was one of my favorite authors back then, along with Isaac Asimov and Ray Bradbury.
Every few years I reread the unabridged version of  "Stranger in a Strange Land"
I'm still trying to fully grock it.

Sign me up for one.
It would make a great birthday gift.

I used to read Heinlein as well when I was a young'un but don't think I ever read that one. Good author!

In danger of wandering off topic.
I read Heinlein's Starship Troopers  in Junior High School,  when in the Army, and again years later.   How can that be three different books.  Or was it three different people.  The movie was trash IMNSHO.

Ah, yes, grokking is fulfillment. 🤤  My favorite Heinlin from that era was “Tunnel In The Sky.”  I’m betting it influenced whomever wrote “The Hunger Games.”  But the best was Azimov’s “Foundation” trilogy. Nice to see so many sci-fi buffs here. — Jon

I thought I had read most all of Heinlein but don't recall Tunnel. I will have to look that up. Loved Foundation series and most of Asimov's stuff.

Yes! to Heinlein (the two I particularly remember are Stranger in a Strange Land & The Moon is a Harsh Mistress), but Asimov was my favorite simply because of his range from short stories to novels to essays to "regular" science books that made sense to my non-science brain to the Bible & his Guide to Shakespeare--my "bible" teaching HS English.

That was a good one.  The movie Interstellar  loosely reminded me of Tunnel in the Sky.

The Foundation 'Trilogy' turned into 7 books  ( Heptology?).
