I bought two of these when I built my house and they are one of those things where you think how did I ever get by without this? They are incredibly stable and sturdy and I have to believe someone exceeded the weight limit or put the ladder at too much of an angle. I'll do some more research on this but won't be returning my ladders anytime soon. I think a scrawny old man like myself should be safe enough.

Hmmm...

I have had my ”Gorilla” ladder marketed by Home Depot for about a year now. Often, products of like ilk are manufactured at the same  facility. This, however, may not be the case. That being said, I have really fallen for, but not off of, the Gorilla Ladder.

These types of folding, extendable ladders are a great addition for a home owner. While the recent recall of the Werner ladder is a bit concerning, as often is the case, this recall is subject to certain models produced during a specific time line.

Caution is often prudent and a quick check of  model/date won’t take much of an effort. The plus behind a recall is that the replacement products are often a better, more recent design. Nothing wrong with that.

Need to check mine.  Wonder what is breaking, probably the hinge.
When both sections are fully extended, there is a lot of leverage on the hinge assembly.
Sure is a handy ladder, able to get into places an ordinary ladder can't.

Hi all
There are many brands and knockoff versions of this type of ladder.  The original was made by Little Giant very sturdy hinges and overall construction.  We used them as commercial painters for years,  still own them and wouldn't give them up for anything.  They were not cheap but you get what you pay for.  That being said don't risk life and limb on an inferior or defective  ladder. My DH calls a poor ladder a widow maker.  Check the quality and weight rating on your ladders.  All ladders should be labeled with their weight bearing.  Little Giant's weight rating is 300lbs,  Werners is 250lbs.

Be safe!!!!!
