Black Streak Remover
Wow I am totally amazed. I have a friend that buys and flips old motorhomes. I saw one he was working on that had years of grunge and covered in heavy black streaks. When he was done cleaning it look good and all the black streaks were gone. I asked what he used. He used "LA's Totally Awesome" a dollar store all purpose cleaner. I bought a quart for a buck and just got done with my spring wash job. Mixed the stuff about 5 to 1 with water and the black steaks came off with just one pass of my wash brush no heavy scrubbing at all. I live under the flight path of a busy airport and black streaks can get bad so I am just shocked at how well this cheap product worked.

Jody at the 5 to 1 mixture I used it says it will remove wax too. It has different mix ratios on the bottle for different applications. I’m waxing the rig anyway so I don’t mind that it removes the old wax. Gives me a nice clean base to work with. I was careful using it. Washed the black steak areas then hosed it off real well. Then washed the whole rig with regular car wash. Sure look good right now and can’t see any difference in shine from the areas I used the Awesome and the areas I didn’t.

The MSDS says there is no known irritation from inhalation,  but I can tell you from personal experience that you don't want to inhale this stuff if you can help it.  It won't kill you, but it is definitely irritating.   I've been using Awesome to clean in my sticks and bricks for a number of years now.

Using it outdoors and diluted I didn't even notice anything irritating. But I can imagine concentrated indoors would be a different story. But I think most cleaning products are like that you don't want to inhale them.

Most black streaks will come off using a spray cleaner, like Simple Green.
For stubborn stains that will not come out, a cleaner wax or polishing compound is the cure.
To prevent their build up, frequent roof scrubbing and rising helps to removed the dirt and rotting organic materials that produces the streaks.
To make streak removal easier, keep a good coat of a wax on the areas affected.
