There is an RV maker in Red Bay, Alabama that sells a lot of rigs. They aren't too bad. The selling point is if anything goes wrong, bring it back and they will fix it. You can always tell when you are getting near Red Bay, as you will see many Allego's and Phaeton's headed to the mothership.My B-I-L likes to buy mass market rigs. They spend most of their lives in an RV repair shop, We see he bought #5, a fifth wheel made by a company owned Tiffen.Finally, I get to the punch line. As does the marketing language about the miles of wiring and vast numbers of motors, sensors and processors built into their rigs. The simple life of a ‘92 is for me. 2 Likes

We are getting ready to head out on this year's five-month adventure and since we bought Bossa Nova on June 12th, we've put 10,178 miles on her with the only thing needed - tightening a loose propane line. This morning I waxed the driver's side and rear; tomorrow I will finish up the passenger side and front. Not only is she beautiful, she is the most reliable wheels I've ever owned. If we ever sell it, we can say we have factory new seat cushions.The rear bed has never been pulled together except for a test. So we also have a new King. We've opened it completely about 10 times in 16 years. Nice when you need it. But in the 31', I'd get barrel chairs next time around. I miss having a chair to sit in as I don't find the couch that comfortable for long sits. For naps and sleeping, it's fine.Chris 3 Likes

I'm glad I had the experience of my folks' Pace Arrow with twin beds (even though they had a king in the stix), because I've also realized I have a much larger rear window with the wardrobes mid-ship & there's no need for side access to an IB. But Joan's mantra--YMMV--prevails.Lynne

DavidEven if I'm not the driver, with the TB & sofa, I'm thinking about adopting--or renting--a "kid" to drive if necessary...at 80+, I figure anybody under 65 could qualify as a "kid" (& have a driving record to demonstrate whether I'd trust them behind LDy Lulubelle's wheel). It was love at first sight & I figure LDy Lulubelle & I are in this 'til death do us part, whether I'm driving or not.Also, with all the solar panels & other boondocking accouterments, she makes a great place to stay at the farm...my 86 y/o neighbor is still running the tractor & brush hog. Would you make him wear a uniform and cap?And you wouldn't have him just drive. Should be able to send him up and down the ladder to the roof as often as necessary. I'm kinda concerned that I can prob climb up there ok, but not be able to get back down. Suppose I can just stay in populated places where I can just yell for help. 1 Likes

A few years ago we were touring the Maine coast and stopped for a couple of days at an RV park on the outskirts of Freeport. My Bro and Sis -in-laws were accompanying us in their moho. After we arrived, in pulled a beautiful 40' diesel pusher with all sorts of slides and other bling. A youngish 35-something was the driver. We started to chat him up and he explained that he had just deposited the rig's owners at a hotel in the town center. He went on to explain that he was hired by the elderly couple as their driver/cook/pet attendant/toad maintainer & driver as needed. The rig had Pennsylvania license plates. I seem to recall that they were home-based somewhere around Pittsburgh. We later saw him walking the small dog on leash, and he hung a strange looking cage thing outside an opened slide window that contained a cat. We never did see the owners, nor hear anymore about them. 1 Likes
