Acrylic/Glass Wardrobe Knob March 26, 2018, 01:13:04 pm Last night (being the klutz that I am), I had picked up my dog and as I was turning around whacked the acrylic glass knob off my glass door wardrobe. I super-glued it back on but it's pretty ugly looking as the base square cracked. Has anyone ever had this problem? If so, how would you take off the small square that is glued to the glass to replace the knob with something that doesn't stick so far out as to break off? This isn't a good photo, but as you know the knob is attached to the mirror on a small square.

We replaced both sides with larger handles similar to these. Re: Acrylic/Glass Wardrobe Knob Reply #2 – March 26, 2018, 03:59:19 pm Had to do the same replacement. I used a razor knife to work my way under the remaining plate. Lifting with my fingers but no prying! Even pressure, especially to the side, rather than lifting, patience and heat (hair dryer on low) helped. I replaced them with a very similar item from Amazon as I recall. For sure me reason we have not had any problem since.

Re: Acrylic/Glass Wardrobe Knob Reply #4 – March 26, 2018, 07:47:39 pm If it's mounted with 3M trim attachment tape, you can saw thru that with dental floss. Once removed, a razor blade will skim off the rest, with acetone cleaning up any adhesive that's left.Remount with 3M tape (gray with red backer) and allow to 'set' for a day to build adhesive strength, if needed. As long as it's got a similar contact patch, it should work.

Ours are a similar design to the picture in this thread, but different color. I'm wondering if the factory would still have all the old styles so we could match the one that is still good. Whats the thoughts on replacing these? Go with factory parts, or something off of amazon?

Call the Mothership and see if they have your model. I like what Art suggested 2 years ago.Chris
