Mail Forwarding Service Recommendations - Oregon/Washington
Hi Everyone,

We are exploring the idea of going full time in the next year.  We both will continue to work in Oregon and legally would want (we think) to remain Oregon or perhaps Washington residents.

Any recommendations for a company you've had good luck with?  We'd need one with an address that would constitute a residence - probably not a PO box.  

I know lots of fulltimers use states with no state income tax such as FL or TX, but don't know if/ how that would work out for us with our local jobs, employer paid medical, and property ownership in Portland.

Any guidance is appreciated!  Thanks.

If you are currently Oregon residents, why change?  If you want to fulltime, Oregon has a continuous traveler provision that you can make your new address.  Check with DMV for details.  Meanwhile, I am checking with my Oregon-based mail forwarding service to see if they are taking new clients.  If so, I will message  you with details.

Escapees has a mail-forwarding service which I believe uses a Texas address (could be wrong on that). You will need to become a member first:

We have used My Dakota Address. We maintain a residence but often are on the road 6-9 months at a time.  We maintain our home address of course, and the ensuing confusion for items that can’t be forwarded has caused problems. Like voter registration, banking notices, etc. PITA!

We have learned that we rarely need mail forwarded on the road- very little is not paperless.  BUT, things like proof of insurance, election ballots (WA vote by mail), notices from the bank that your account is about to be ruled inactive, medical communications from our off the grid Marcus Welby doc. These we need to have handled. And the lack of junk mail is so worthwhile.

Our wonderful neighbors pick up our mail without complaint though, so we have given up on the mail forwarding. It is cheaper to buy them presents when we travel, and the few times a year we need an item forwarded they step up.

The Escapees has been forwarding mailing to RVer for years and has a very efficient system that allows you to tailor how your mail is processed.
It's worth looking into.
