Is that shiplap siding?  Maybe it's amphibious--I know next to nothing about boats, but I've seen pictures of them in dry dock or when being christened/launched, & it looks like there's a  lot below the water line...

HI Lynne. I'm sure that wavy stuff is aluminum.  OK well it could be galvanized steel, which would be really heavy, or lightweight fiberglass, maybe not invented then. The panels are available at hardware stores and generally used as patio covers. Rain runs down the grooves well. RonB

My dad wasn't a paranoid/conspiracy theorist/survivalist type of guy, but when my folks built the house (Cold War/'64) where I grew up, instead of the usual concrete/rebar under the garage, he had a whole concrete room, with a hole in an upper corner should he decide to put in an air filtration system.  It had one door into the rest of the partially-finished rec room basement.  He put just a plain interior wooden door with a hasp & peg.  Though they slept with my sister & me, he told both of the grandmas that was their space if problems arose, & so it was always referred to as The Mother-in-Law Room   Dad would have gotten a kick out of the idea of a towable Mother-in-Law Room

We have seen hundreds of juicy Vans, mostly in NPs or along the coast line.
They seem to alway be rented by foreign tourists. Can't say I have ever seen an advertisement for them here in the USA.
The must be promoted overseas as a cheap way to travel and camp.

IMO, Earthroamer appeals to those with more money than sense.
Do you really want to take such expensive pieces of equipment out into the boonies and beat them up?
I would have a hard time doing it....unless I had just won the Power Ball or Mega Millions.
Small chance of that happening, no matter if I play or not. Ever since taking a couple of statistics classes in college, gambling has never been the same or much fun.

The details on it list an indoor shower but for the life of me I can't figure out where it is, even after looking at the photos.  Do they want you to stand in that itty bitty sink or something?

Probably has a outdoor shower that sets up with a curtain.

Looking up the specs for a 4-door 2008 Rubicon shows that its curb weigh is 4,315 Lbs and its GVW is 5,240 Lbs.
That's a total cargo capacity of just 900 Lbs.
Anyone want to take a guess on how much the camper adds to the total weight, including fluids, gear and passengers.
I have no idea what it weights other than it's a lot more than 900 Lbs. 
Heck, it's 25 gallons of fresh water weight 400-lbs, the  210 amp-hour AGM battery adds another 130-lbs.
The front is burdened with a heavy winch bumper.
This overpriced 4X4 RV is seriously overloaded right from the Factory.
Looking at the photos, the rear end is already dragging and it hasn't been loaded yet

Looking at the spec sheet, I see no axle or brake upgrades, only the addition of the hot-rod Hemi engine.
Overloading an expedition-type vehicle is a recipe for disaster, if you really use it as advertised.
Unless there are a lot of unlisted chassis upgrades, it seems almost criminal to sell such a vehicle.

EarthRoamer doesn’t list this model, so the experiment may have been a commercial failure. The expedition market is usually as perspicacious as Larry, and the price makes it an expensive novelty. It would look cool in the campground though, with the right wardrobe.

If one wants a 'traditional' toilet/black water tank in his/her Earthroamer, the $1.5 million rig is the only choice; the $435,000 rig offers a 5-gallon cassette potty only. 'Luxury appointments', no toilet, and close to a half-million bucks; Larry's comment about 'more money than sense' works for me!

I think you're right. I remember seeing a Jeep-based EarthRoamer model on their site many years ago, but it's no longer shown.

That Benz does look interesting. A commercial Mercedes truck with only 13,000 miles. If it had to be re-done in 2015 I would guess someone was near living in it full time. The quality of the customizer would be the big question here. With that big of a 'snout' and a length of 30 feet, the interior dimensions would be comparable to a 26' LD. Not many view windows when cooped up inside. It didn't mention any slide-outs, so I'm going to assume that the King size bed was the two single beds pulled out to the center. That sure would limit easy access to the rear bathroom. GVWR and GCWR should be really good. The diesel tanks weren't specified, about 11 to 16 mpg I would think. The rear overhang from the rear axle looked large to me, but hey I've got a 23-1/2' TK.    I'd like to see a better description of the floorplan with window shades open.   RonB

It has only one door.  It is laid out like a small class A.
