Ordered a 2018 mid bath 27' white/grey 1/3/18, we are hoping for a July delivery January 03, 2018, 05:59:19 pm I spent a few hours with Todd Miller at the Mothership, and was told if I wanted to wait for a 2019, I would have to wait till February 2019, so we decided to order now. We are super busy, and not super handy so we loaded it up pretty well, including adding the rear table and extension, extra outlets etc. He said I would have a little time to research anything we ordered in coming weeks. He said some folks "ahead of us" on the list have been are slow to get back to LD, so if your on the list, you may want to call and see where you are on it. We got the "factory packet" in mid/late December. One disappointment Kristy had is that she really wanted a stainless steel sink, come to find out that NOW, thats what we will get!! I know it was because I was a "sweet talker" when I was at the factory lol. I hope we can make it to some fall 2018 LD rallies/get togethers so we can show off our stainless sink, changes/progress, ya know is slow at LD, love it! Now I guess we will start to look at options to finance it, please post or message me if you have suggestions, Ill call some credit unions, Good Sams? and a few others. Todd and LD suggested Essex in Northern California. Its been quite an adventure already learning everything we could about RV'ing, and what all the different brands offer. Then deciding on a Lazy Daze and going forward to order a new one! I appreciate all your forum help and suggestions, what a great community of helping one another! We all know their are cheaper Class C motorhomes, but the more I studied LD, even new, they seem to be a bargain compared to SOB (some other brands) and the possible problems some of them have that I have read about on other forums. We just want to have the best chance to enjoy our time off with our teens and family without worrying about repairs and the history of the coach. 4 Likes

The fun is just beginning (well, after the wait anyway)! What color will your new LD be?Regarding financing, I prefer using local credit unions. LD told us June/July, probably July."----A query: I'm confused about a distinction between 'signing up' and 'ordering' a new LD. Granted, I did this 14 years ago, and it may well be that the situation has changed, but the process at the time was to figure out what one wanted (visit the factory, scrutinize the LD website, see as many LDs and 'talk to' as many owners as possible), then put down the deposit to order the LD; there was no 'sign up' or 'getting on a list' or anything but a 'you pays your money and you makes your choice' deal. So, what's changed? 1 Likes
Re: Ordered a 2018 mid bath 27' white/grey 1/3/18, we are hoping for a July delivery Reply #8 – January 04, 2018, 09:15:59 am If your interested in buying a new LD, when you contact them, the factory reps inform you that to order/buy a new one it takes about a year. So your only option is to add your name to the list. No deposit, no money down at that time. Then 4-5? months later they send you a factory packet with prices, option choices/prices and fabric/cabinet samples etcThen you typically go in, place your order, give them a deposit, and in our case wait approximately 7 more months for your vacation/camping “dream machine” 🐯There is no “cooling off” period so be sure its what you really want or you risk losing your deposit! If you can’t pay cash, I would get your financing set up before you put your deposit down 💰I’m trying to come up with a name for it, #DaddysDreamMachine? I know you all can help with that! #TigersDen? Where does the hot tub go? LOL

Since we will be buying used when the time comes we may not have much choice but our top exterior colors (in order of preference) are: brown, blue, green. We have decided to focus on paying off our mortgage first so it may be awhile before we are ready to buy. I love Dave’s stuff but he obviously has never stepped foot in a LD! I think it would be step 2, because then you will work your rear end off to pay it off! I’ve been been checking local campground prices, wow, when did they triple the prices? It’s been 10+years since we did some RV camping. We will be studying how to make online reservations way ahead of time, and try to find the best deals to have fun and explore California and nearby states in the coming years, with our puppy LiL RitaWhat campground memberships do you all belong too? What are the best deals you have found near Southern California? I see some of you camping at Casinos etc.

Of course, then, you must meet "The Silver Fox," our baby, a MB silver gray 27. On camping, we really love the harvest host program. You sign up, pay about $45/year, and have access to a web site which lists many wineries, farms, ranches etc which allow you to camp for one night for free with the assumption that you will buy something they offer, e.g. a bottle of wine. We have done this several times and had wonderful experiences. there are quite a few locations in California so that could be interesting for you. Some of our very best experiences have been with harvest hosts, e.g. an alpaca ranch in Bellingham, WA, fabulous wineries in Lodi, CA, and a farm store in B.C. You can find them online at harvesthosts.com Have fun. 3 Likes

Lucky me, right? Naming your new LD? I know this is just too easy, Tiger. First thing that comes to mind...”Tony”. Yeah ok. I’ll stop. Camping? I use rec.gov for many of my campground reservations. From Yosemite, Zion’s Watchman Campground to more local fair like Serrano in Big Bear & Indian Cove near Yucca Valley. Free app and very easy to use. Have fun preparing for a great new adventure.Kent 1 Likes

It all, depends on your personal camping style. For instance we, Baxter and my family, liz and two cats, or camping on BLM land a n Quartzsite,Az for $40 for two weeks, water and dump included. We just left another patch of BLM outside Jousha Tree National Park that was free for 14 days. Our plan when the weather get warmer is to head to Florida camping on/in State Parks (prices all over the place and WalMarts here and there.Third Financing- we paid cash using a line of credit based on a first home mortgage. The Federal tax and IRS rule preclude drawing money from 401k and other retirement funds. 1 Likes

We have had great experiences staying at farms and wineries. We highly recommend it. We have stayed at a couple of places that were not in the program but I explained it to them and they have invited us to stay as if they were in. At a few of the wineries we were invited to hang out after closing and hang out with the wine makers and staff, it's always a good time! Karen~Liam 26 ~ MB 2 Likes

When arranging financing for my 2017 LD last year, I had applied to Alliant Credit Union as they had the lowest rates that I could find. I was initially approved by them. However, they then required the "dealer invoice pricing sheet that they [Lazy Daze] get from the manufacturer." Lazy Daze was unable to furnish this since they build the motorhomes and there is no manufacturer involved. As a result, Alliant wrote me: "I got a response from the manager saying we will not be able to finance that particular unit since it is a custom build since we can not determine a value for it." I ended up financing through Essex Credit at a higher rate than Alliant.Monica

Re: Ordered a 2018 mid bath 27' white/grey 1/3/18, we are hoping for a July delivery Reply #23 – January 18, 2018, 12:28:07 pm Essex has a track record with Lazy Daze and have been providing financing for Lazy Daze customers for some time now. Essex is an arm of Bank Of The West. They can be very particular and while they finance RV’s, Boats and the like, one had better have all your “T’s” crossed and a good credit rating. When looking into financing our LD, I found Essex to have favorable terms. While Credit Unions and Large Banks may have lower interest rates, they tend to carry a max loan term of 15 years while Essex will carry a 20 year loan at a marginally higher rate. When crunching numbers, I found that the lower Credit Union & Bank loans required a higher monthly payment than Essex over the term of the loan. Financing anything is a tricky venture. Sometimes ya gotta do what ‘cha gotta do. Just my two cents of interest in the matter.Enjoying the stars at night at Indian Cove.Kent
