Our New Lazy Daze - Rosie #2 October 16, 2017, 07:54:07 pm Picked up Rosie #2 on Oct 6 and started the journey back to Michigan. Because we didn't pay the California sales tax, had to have an ICC driver take us to the Arizona border. FYI, do not assume that the ICC drivers have been informed about the engine "break in" period suggestions: no cruise control, don't go 70 mph, no hard braking. Our driver did all of that. I had to inform him. A "deja vu" happened. When we drove our first LD back to Michigan in 2002, a rock was kicked up by a passing car and hit our windshield. Well, guess what happened again. I got on “the factory list” today after seeing so much junk at the Pomona RV show the last 2 weeks and I want to take my family camping! PLEASE message me if any of you hear of a good LD RV 2009 or newer for sale looking for a 24' twin king/front dinette or possibly a 27' rear bath. I’m in California and will fly anywhere/anytime for a fairly priced unit! I want to buy from an owner not a dealer, help each others family out! 2 Likes

May you have many wonderful adventures.On our maiden voyage, this past June, in our new-to-us 2011 27' MB, we took a rock in the center of the windshield that left an impressive divot and three 2" spider legs. (My son, who has some experience in such things, applied the RainX repair kit to it.) I have never had a good relationship with I-5 up the Central Valley. We are no longer on speaking terms. In our 2002, it only ran when a certain temperature was reached. My wife found the noise extremely annoying. I suggested that when she reached a certain annoyance temperature, that we unplug from shore power. She gave me stink eye look.Glenn & JoanRedford, MI

We travel with friends in a 2017 LD TK just like ours and they figured out how to turn it off inside the LD. I've been using their "trick." I have no idea if it's a good idea or not to do this, but the constant fan noise is super annoying. As far as I can tell you still have electricity when you do this because the clock light comes on on the microwave. We only turn the fan off when no major appliances are running - when they are, their noise drowns out the fan anyway. But, when they're not, the fan is way too loud.What you do is open the door on the converter box down by the floor. It has a little latch that lets you pull it open by hand. Inside, from the left to the right, there are 4 switches. If you push the second switch from the left down, voila! the fan goes off. This is quicker and easier than going outside and unplugging the LD or turning off the power to the post. By turning that off, you shut off the converter and prevent it from charging the house batteries. Re: Our New Lazy Daze - Rosie #2 Reply #18 – October 19, 2017, 07:32:53 pm Going forward, you could install a switch on the fan (somewhat risky if the fan is both needed and forgotten),install a thermostat allowing it to cycle automatically, or do a deep dive into fan specs and source one that moves as much air, but runs much more quietly. I've used each of these approaches on PC's, cars, or other equipment. Your way both controls the heat source well and serves as a safeguard against forgetfulness. Chip 1 Likes

We purchased two solar panels. We will take your suggestion about turning the breaker off and only turn it on if needed.
