double sink cleaning October 17, 2017, 10:49:19 am In the very dim conners of my mind I seem to remember a thread about cleaning and bringing back the whiteness of the kitchen sinks. If someone could point in the the correct direction I'd be very happy.

My 2002 sink doesn't look as good as I would like. And I have been thinking about taking on the task of replacing it. As an Amazon Associate Lazy Daze Owners' Group earns from qualifying purchases.

LD glues the sink in with globs of polyurethane, making it very resistant to removal. Damage to the surround counter is possible, so it must be removed carefully.I cover the counter top, around the sink, with many layers of masking or duct tape, for protection while the sink is cut out.Use a vibratory tool with a sharp chisel blade and force the blade under the sink's lip. After multiple trips around the sink, you should be able to force it up and out...eventually.it's one of my least favorite projects.FYI, before starting, make sure the exact replacement is still available. Many have tried to find and install a stainless steel sink, I have made a couple of attempts. The problem is find a close replacement with the same sink depth, so the drain plumbing still has the right amount of "drop" or slop, for proper drainage. No one has found the right sink yet, so stick with the a stock replacement.Larry 2 Likes
Re: double sink cleaning Reply #4 – October 17, 2017, 03:35:00 pm I trick I tried (not mine) for a stubborn kitchen sink stain (rust) was to set a half lemon on the stain overnight. Completely gone by morning, gleaming white again.Steve 3 Likes
