Moose On The Loose
Two male moose have been hanging around our camping area for the last week. Yesterday afternoon Mary Stock pulled in and Bullwinkle came to check her rig out.

Don,

Contrary to our previous reports, all is well at home so we are going to continue our trip. We are currently in Cheyenne, WY and will tour more of Wyoming and maybe the Dakotas before heading to IL later this month. Still plan on being home early October.
Keep enjoying your trip,
Mike

Nice shot.  RE: the Farmers' Insurance "Hall of Claims" commercial...you aren't parked near any playground equipment, right?   ;)

I'm curious, Don. What campground was the moose photo taken in?

Having worked and played in Alaska Moose can be very very large.   They do have a playful side.   I still remember the signs all over Anchorage explaining what a pissed off Moose looks like.   IMHO I never want to be that near them.

According to statistics, of all the fatalities caused by wildlife in Alaska, Moose are on the top of the list, even above bears!  :o

According to some folks that have been camping here off and on the last two months this moose periodically moseys through the camp ground every so often. He shows no interests in humans.

Dollar to a dime some folks will crowd him to take a picture. I have an 800mm lens, so I don't need to get close. Besides I can always hide behind my DW.

Bull moose weigh almost 1,000 pounds and can run fast. Behave accordingly.
