Re: Larry Wade sighting? Reply #3 – July 17, 2017, 12:19:53 pm That was us, heading to Morro Bay for a couple days of paddling, the best way of finding solitude during the busy summer season. We had the Back Bay to ourselves, kayaking isn't as popular today as the trendy stand up boards (SUPs), which we rarely see more than a mile or so away from the docks. Once we left the marina area, we saw almost no one on the water during Saturday's 10 mile paddle. The weather was foggy and cool, a nice change from the monsoonal crud we have been experiencing this summer.Larry 2 Likes

The seat was designed for a shorter person. I cut the seat assembly apart, lowering and moving it rearward, an inch in each direction. With a new, custom fitted spray sprayskirt, it is now very pleasant to paddle, able to hold decent forward speed while also being able to turn sharply. It's great for poking in and out of the shoreline, where I prefer to paddle, often surprising some creature, animal or human. Wildlife in action is our quest. We paddled Saturday for a little over 5 hours, covering around 10 miles, a long day for us. Yes, I'm happy.Kayak: Samba - Eddyline Kayaks and PaddlesLarry

Her boat was perfect as is, she immediately felt at home in it, being specifically made for her body type. She had paddle one up at Pygmy's shop in Port Townsend and, after twenty minutes, said she had found her new boat. All I had to do was build it. She is still very pleased with it.Selkie Kayak Kit: Designed for Smaller PaddlersSelkie Kayak | FlickrOrdered a waterproof camera today, this will be the third. Have not found one that stays waterproof. With USB charging and WiFi down loading, it may never have to be opened up. We'll see.Larry 2 Likes
Re: Larry Wade sighting? Reply #8 – July 22, 2017, 10:25:14 am Both boats! We get to Port Townsend about once a month and usually look at the Pygmies. Might be a good next project after the van, if I figure out how to load one on a Dodge Promaster. The LD is already set for kayak or canoe.

Re: Larry Wade sighting? Reply #10 – July 22, 2017, 11:02:40 am I own the Eddyline C-135. I have had numerous sit-inside kayaks before and found them ALL to be uncomfortable. I can sit in this one for 5 hours without a complaint other than when mother nature calls. It is a fishing kayak but I rarely fish from it as I intentionally bought it for the comfort. 1 Likes

They almost never come back for rest of the meal, once aware that what they attacked was not a seal.Considering there are tens of thousands of swimmers and surfers in the water, every day, if sharks like eating us, they would be feeding daily. Yum.These days, the majority of our padding is done in bays and on lakes, neither the habitat of sharks.Powerboats and jet skis are a bigger threat.Larry

Everyone one of the six boats have owned had been extensively outfitted, adjusting the seats and padding the contact points. A well fitted, sit-in kayak should fit like a good suit and should allow body movement to control the rolling and to aid in turning. Getting it right takes time... and is so worth it.Larry
