Lowes Veteran Discount July 12, 2017, 11:53:48 am As mentioned sometime in the last year or so, Vets qualify for a routine 10% discount at both Home Depot and Lowe's. Lowe's has a new feature to make transactions easier. If you get a My Lowe's Card at either the store or on-line AND then go to lowes.com/Military and complete the on-line form, the 10% discount will automatically be included in the bill at checkout when the My Lowes Card is scanned. There isn't a need to show additional identification. So I hope this is helpful to our many LDO Vets. 3 Likes

Lowe's accepts that. Last time I showed it at Home Depot, they said it wasn't an approved proof. I was so surprised, I didn't think to ask to see a manager, but I will next time. The young checker at Home Depot whipped out a chart that showed all the approved ids for the discount. It seems odd that a valid DL with endorsement wouldn't count.Larry in Monument, CO2008 24' FD

I don't know all the specifics but not all vets receive the discount any longer. On certain holidays everyone gets it (Memorial and Veteran's Day, 4th of July, etc.). Military retirees and spouses with ID card receive the discount always. Not sure who else does.I like the DMV endorsement idea. Don't think California does it that way.

The better deal with Lowe's is that you just use your My Lowe's Card without any ID to include the self-checkout. Boom ... tiz done and out the door.

Nevertheless, in this part of the lower 48, everything I buy at Home Depot and Lowe's gets a 10% to include big ticket items and ant spray.
