Summer Fun!
I just finished up another year as a para-educator in a TK/Kindergarten class of special children 👶
Tomorrow along with dad, his dog Cedar and a friend we're taking off to spend 4 nights up at June Lake and then 4 more at Mammoth Lakes. Can't wait to be on the road again 🚐😁

Left Bay Area at 9:05 am. Made a few pit stops and arrived at Oh Ridge Campground overlooking June Lake around 4:30pm. On way up we had rain, fog and wind gusts. It's sunny now but cool and windy. 🚐😊 so happy to be here!

Enjoy the trip, we will be up that way the first of July. I've never been to that area so it will be an adventure.

Our daughter spent the last 2 years in a pre-k Special Day Class but they're sending her full mainstream for K with her aide, we appreciate  the work you do!

3Bostons - Congrats to your daughter and her progress. That's great new for you and her to move into a mainstream classroom. We had 4 of our SDC kiddos graduate in to mainstream first grade classes this year 😁

When in this area stop in at Silver Lake Cafe and have breakfast. It's a small place and may have to wait for a table but it's sooooo worth it.

Cynthia,

It looks like you are having a wonderful time!  I agree about the Lazy Daze vs. the tent.  Those days are over.

We enjoyed staying at Hartley Springs, just north of Obsidian Dome.  When we were there last, there was only one other camper and the campground was quite peaceful.  Wonderful trails for bicycling and hiking as well.

Enjoy your trip.

Currently 25 degrees with a lake wind advisory until 8 pm tonight at Mammoth Lakes but should be warming up over the next several days. Have a great visit!

Well It got down to 20 degrees last night. This morning little water puddles are frozen. Yes warmer weather is coming. 😊 Going on yesterday's planned hike today. Pictures to follow.....

Brr, I hope it warms up before our trip in a few weeks. At least we can stay warm in the Lazy Daze. Hope the weather isn't dampening your fun.

It warmed up today and Suzanne and I hiked Rush Creek Trail up until you had to cross rushing water.

Was just watching the nightly national news and they reported Mammoth Mountain will be open for skiing through August!

Had a relaxing day. Broke camp at June Lake and moved down to Mammoth. Drove around town and out to Crowley Lake. Stopped to catch a salmon at Vons for dinner. It was yummy!

Suzanne and I hiked around Convict Lake on a breathtaking day. After our hike we ate our lunch by a quick running stream. It doesn't get much better that that. 😁 Drove around during town, shopped a little and drove up to ski resort. Though small in numbers there are some diehard skiers and snowboarders taking advantage of the few ski runs open. Back in camp to relax and BBQ hotdogs for dinner. We are going to sit out tonight around the campfire and have S'mores. 🍫
BTW it's warmer here and we were able to wear t-shirts and shorts.

You're getting us excited for our trip, we leave in 2 weeks for 3 nights at convict lake, 3 nights at twin lakes and 3 nights at June lake. It's my first time to the area, unfortunately the snow is messing with my plans. It's not looking likely the roads will be cleared to some of the destinations I planned! Oh well, at least we have water this year. Definitely post more about your trip.

If you only have a week and are traveling via Lazy Daze, my opinion is that you have chosen the best place in Cali.

3bostons, your going to love be the area. We too had certain plans for the area but had to be flexible. No hike to Devils Postpile or Rainbow falls roadway is still closed. Our reservations for Twin Lakes were canceled before our trip so we are at Old Shady Rest campground. The road is closed beyond Twin Lakes so you can't get up to the other lakes or campgrounds.

Today's adventure was to explore Rock Creek Rd and its many campgrounds all the way up to Rock Creek Resort. Shout out to blue LD parked out front of Resort 😊 We saw you! Then we drove in to Bishop to have lunch at Erick Schats Bakkery. Besides our sandwiches, we can out with some sweets also 🍪🍞. Relaxed in camp then took dog for a 1-1/2mile walk before dinner. Tomorrow is our last full day and we're doing a few hikes......so better pictures to follow

Today Suzanne and I drove up to the Inyo Crators trailhead and hiked up to see 2 of the 3 crators up there. Then we visited the Earthquake Fault. Drove up to Stamp Mill trailhead but chose not to hike it. Drove The length of Sherwin Creek Rd, part paved/part dirt. (We owe dad a car wash 😁)
Got some great pictures. Tomorrow we travel home 😕 It's been a great vacation, thanks for coming along. 🚐
