No Lazy Daze in sight
Well sitting here near Salt Lake City. Three days of traveling, four states, and 800 miles. Still haven't spotted another Lazy Daze.

We just got home from a three week trip and didn't see a Lazy Daze for nearly the entire time.  Then Cyndy spotted one on highway 10 going east as we were heading west and there was lots of waving out the windows from both rigs.

Harold,

This would have been the perfect time for an autopilot. Lol 😜

Really though, sounds like you both had a great time. Pics?

Inquiring LDO's need to know.

Kent, you know I like the autopilot for long ocean passages, but a self-driving motorhome by Google just doesn't sound like any fun!

We had a great time and I'm learning to appreciate the Lazy Daze for all of its fine qualities.  We did visit some really nice campgrounds but had to stay where we could get water and power.  While we were out on the bike, we left Toby the German Shepherd in the rig all day.  Running the AC provided white noise to reduce the woof-woof-woofing at passer-bys and kept him cool and comfortable.  Neighbors said he was quiet and didn't notice him.

I'll see if I can dig up a few pictures that don't bore the audience or embarass me for lack of skills.

Well 9 days on the road. Went to Bryce, Capital Reef, Canyonlands, Arches, now sitting in Colorado. Still haven't seen another Lazy Daze. Traveled about 1700 miles so far but the wind has been bad the last couple days.

Looking forward to hearing about your travels and seeing any photos you share. I've been to Bryce (hoping to make a trip back) but not the other parks you mentioned. They are on the bucket list, though!

If you want to see another LD, your best bet may be to watch Bosch, season 3, episode 1.  :D

Safe travels!

Considering that few LD have been built in the last ten years, compare to previous decades, and that many leave California, heading east.  It's amazing we see them at all, once leaving Arizona.
LDs probably are being scrapped at a faster rate than new ones are built, I see fewer and fewer 1980's models and the early 1990s are disappearing too.

We did a 1 week trip at the beginning of April and passed 2 Lazy Daze on the road, both times in the middle of absolute nowhere between Desert Center and Vidal junction going the opposite direction.  Lots of blinking lights and waving to one another but didn't get a good look at what models they were. The 2 faux painted windows are a good giveaway when still far away. Keep the faith you will run into another some time.

PS I see another lazy daze every time I go to work, there's a homeless person living in a run down early 80s one in the parking lot at work.

Well saw our first LD today in Holbrook AZ. Look like a 26.5 RB brown in color with a toad. Only took 7 states and 2100 miles.

Hot 99 degrees. Not many oranges. We managed to get a few that had been missed during harvest. They are so good. We want to go back someday when there are lots of oranges and you can smell them in the air. When's the best time to go?

Sorry I missed you but think I was at Bass Lake when you came through.

The harvest is different for the Navels and Valencias. The Navels are more of a winter fruit and the Valencias are a summer harvest so you were probably in between the best harvest times. The park you were staying at is right around the corner from the California Fruit Depot. We just stopped there on the way back from Bass Lake and picked up a 10 lb. bag of Navels, coincidentally!

Oranges

Give them a call and they will let you know the best times for oranges. And be sure to let me know next time you come through as it would be great to meet up!

"When's the best time to go?"

I've found that the month of January is best, plus or minus, depending on the year. Sometimes they will come in early and other times a bit later. The RV Park will loan you a picker (wire basket with teeth on a long pole) and admonish you to take only what you can reasonably use.

I've been staying there for over 18 years, before they opened the new section or before they had WiFi.  8)

I stayed there twice just this early April, on my way to and from the Mothership when I got my new fridge.  :)

From Alabama to Utah, we have seen three. Two on the highway and one parked just north of Lone Rock. As Larry observed fewer being built. Then years ago, we would have seen well over a dozen. I think the cult is dead.

I've never really been into cults, but if I were to be associated with any cult it would be the Lazy Daze Cult.

I've actually considered myself to be more of a Happy Wanderer...

...but then again maybe a cult isn't such a bad idea.

Saw this LD toy hauler pulling out of a hardware store in Prescott, AZ yesterday. Proof that it's still running. For only $2,500 it could be someone's new project.

Nice conversion job.
What's the thing above the added A/C, a gun port?
