When I was a small child, we lived in Rome, NY for a couple of years as my father was stationed at the old Griffiss AFB, now closed down. Yes, I was an Air Force brat!

Sometimes the single threads can be convenient though, just have to go to the end to see what's new on the outside.

What's up with that? From the ad.1990 LAZY DAZE 22FT"DONT ASK THOUSAND QUESTIONS IF YOUR PICKY PERSON KEEP LOOKING"Maybe people ask too many question about why the engine and transmission have already been rebuilt when it has only 60,000 miles on the odometer. It's a lightweight, E350, which is easier on the engine and transmission than the heavier E450s.It might have been used to pull an overweight trailer or toad, no other good reason why both the engine and transmission would be worn out at 60,000 miles, unless it wasn't maintained. The exterior looks OK, as much as the low resolution photos allow judging. The new tires are an off brand. It must have been stored for long periods, considering how low the miles are and that it is 27 years old.I would want to know a lot about who rebuilt the engine and transmission and then have it inspected by a knowledgeable Ford mechanic. Lots of questions to ask, I guess I'm too picky . Larry 3 Likes

Re: Non-member Classified Listings Reply #16 – March 29, 2017, 09:21:53 pm "DONT ASK THOUSAND QUESTIONS IF YOUR PICKY PERSON KEEP LOOKING"I could be wrong, but I get the feeling the owner of that rig might have had an encounter with a certain someone from this group (she bought a rig recently) who was getting tutored by the group on how to shop for an older Lazy Daze and she drove him over the edge. Would have liked being a fly on the wall during that encounter!Steve K 4 Likes
Re: Non-member Classified Listings Reply #17 – March 30, 2017, 09:52:49 am "I could be wrong, but I get the feeling the owner of that rig might have had an encounter with a certain someone from this group..."---Maybe so, but, IMO, a smart buyer has a responsibility to exercise thorough due diligence when checking out a purchase of any type, and particularly when buying anything with wheels! If this translates as "being picky", count me among the tribe! However, a buyer (and seller!) needs to make distinctions between minor cosmetic or easily/inexpensively remedied issues and potentially serious, big ticket deal-breakers that compromise the sale value; both sides need to know what to look for, how to realistically assess condition, and at least a ballpark concept of the amount of work, money, and the skill set needed to effect the fixes. And this knowledge is particularly critical if one intends the rig to be one's home!Additionally, a buyer (and seller!) should be aware of the advantages, disadvantages, and "quirks" of a particular chassis/engine, model year, and floor plan; questions on those topics have been asked and answered many times on this forum (and on its previous incarnation) by experienced, savvy people, and there's no shortage of all sorts of information from additional web sources. It can be tedious, time-consuming, and often frustrating to research essential information, and I do understand the "want it now" factor, but not being appropriately "picky" (and/or relying on a seller to candid and straightforward about a rig's issues) is a lot more likely to result in a buyer's walking away with a wart-infested POS rather than a cream puff. So, be "picky", buyers; be "picky" about the right stuff, but be "picky"! 3 Likes

Re: Non-member Classified Listings Reply #19 – March 30, 2017, 10:10:06 am Talk about a red flag! In what world is a $9800 purchase such a casual thing that one can afford to make it without being picky? It's a vehicle and housing for a buyer, so besides the money, security and safety, financial and public liability are at stake.

Anyone willing to put their stuff on the block to be sold has two options. Sell it or trash it.Buying a pig in a poke is not advisable and any seller not willing to answer the endless barrage of questions from potential buyers has no business selling anything to the public.
