Just joined the lazy daze craze...
Hi all...last Friday I picked up my 2005 65,000 mile gray/white 26.5 ft mid bath LD from a nice older couple in Macedonia,ohio..it's in excellent++ condition for $25K which was his asking price..took a one way plane ride out there just going off of owners description I knew I had to act fast...it has a few issues (license plate lights don't work, latch inside broke, drawer slider bent, few rusty bolts/screws on outside) it needs a nice polish..I need to update electronics with flat screens and xbox 360 etc...but these are SOLID motorhomes...I can't believe how nice it drives..Just planted..rock solid and takes corners good!!  at least for a motorhome....I drove several coachmen and Winnebago etc class c's and they made so much noise with rattles etc and very top heavy..liked to lean a lot...I drove the LD motorhome 10 hours no big deal!  I stayed overnight at a Wal-Mart outside in Illinois and parked next to a few newer class C and in the morning the old guy next to me comes running out "I had one of those".. so we talked for an hour or so.......I have already fixed many of the problems like the drawer that wouldn't slide or stay shut..the railing was just bent...unscrewed the railing and the wood is hard/solid not particle board..someone banged something on the rail storing something in the back that caused it to bend up therefore drawer wasn't seating on railing and not shutting properly...any other motorhome the screw holes on the ends of slide would of blown out...not here.......gave it a good cleaning...replaced a broken fantastic fan garnish...few other things.....and this thing is like new!  I just need to give it a good detail on the outside then it will look fantastic...ordered all the parts I needed to get it perfect thru factory today...I forgot to get the nameplate reordered...not sure what to put for the engraved name!!!  was thinking "grateful dead" or "cousin eddie" ala xmas vacation lol!!!  Putting my family name just seems to boring..  This is my first RV ever and I just wanted to give a huge shout out to whoever is responsible for this site as I have learned so much...thanks to all you guys and gals who recommended this rv for me indirectly with all the forum posts.. I love it and so do the kids they sleep and hang out in it while it's in my driveway and I'm working on it!!  Brian

Welcome to the LDO forum and congrats on your new-to-you Lazy Daze, Biran. As you continue working on your project list, feel free to post your questions (if any) here.

Yea Brian they drive so nice compared to others. Mine has quite a few more miles than yours and still drives great.

Hi Brian,
"Hi all...last Friday I picked up my 2005 65,000 mile gray/white 26.5 ft mid bath LD from a nice older couple in Macedonia,ohio..it's in excellent++ condition for $25K which was his asking price. "Brian

I was wondering who bought that rig; congratulations!
I live about 10 miles west of Macedonia and had seen it listed on Craigslist and was curious about it. You must have acted quickley because it was gone soon after it was listed. One correction though, I think you bought a "26.5 Island bed"; a floorplan with a queen bed in the rear. A midbath would have either 2 sofas or 1 sofa and 2 chairs in the rear.

We have a silver/gray midbath and I had taken our rig to a nearby Ford dealer for some warranty work; the service writer commented that he thought he saw my LD there the week before. I wonder if it was the rig you bought since Lazy Dazes are mighty rare in this area. If so, what a coincidence.

Based on the photos I saw, it looks like you got a GREAT deal.  Glad it got to stay in a Big Ten state too. Good luck and happy travels.

Brian,

Your list of simple repairs reminds of something very familiar...let me think...oh yeah,

Sounds like you've got it all under control. Just look at what the Ghost Busters did with their rig and you had sooo much more to work with.

Great job and enjoy the ride.

Haha...thanks Steve k.....so it's island bed...ok...yeah I acted pretty fast on it the owners were really nice..the rig has a few issues I'm sorting very minor all the big stuff is good...Robert had it in for service it has to have been his!!!...my brother is a senior master mechanic at stivers ford in des moines..  they specialize on heavy trucks like ambulance motorhome construction trucks etc....that's a good story steve!!!  What a coincidence. ....the couple I bought from hadn't used it for last year due t o health issues so they sold...

We saved the $ up..then looked for a rig....so I was ready when right one came up...right colors for me...cab over bed for kids...and rear bed for me and the wifey hehe....it was really hard to find this combination. ..especially the cab over bed....we looked at born free too...but lazy daze a little cheaper price wise...and...I like the old school looks of the daze...and I love the name...LAZY DAZE....what a great name...steve....we were like a hungry lion..hidden in the brush...waiting for a fat injured gazelle to go by..and......pounce....got that 2005 island bed lol!!!...paid full price didn't bother low balling or messing around so hopefully i get some street credit here with you guys for that!...almost gave up on lazy daze.. the ad came up and it was like it was meant to be...I think the previous owner wanted to adopt me.  We were seriously looking at 2 born frees..that were sort of close...also the born free factory is only 2 hours from me since made in iowa...anyway...ask my wife. .I have to be difficult. .different. ..I had to have the exotic California LD....haha...
