Running Boards March 23, 2017, 06:24:21 pm Ok so Lazy Daze has the best anti skid known to man kind on their running boards. It's about like 60 grit sandpaper. I know I can't be the only one who has stepped out of the cab. Bypassing the running board stepping to the ground. And having the anti skid remove a layer of skin off their calf. So I am tired of bleeding and wondering if anyone has covered this anti skid with something else. Something a little more flesh friendly lol. I was thinking about spray on Bedliner. Any other suggestions? 1 Likes

Leaving the anti-skid as is, I learn to step flatly on the running board and have avoided new injuries. Re: Running Boards Reply #14 – March 26, 2017, 12:30:46 pm And, in case your sandpaper steps are loosing the grit, the Mothership stocks new step covers, so you can scrape the back of your legs, no matter how old your LD is.BTW, it's bear to get the old cover and adhesive off.Small missing patches of the cover can be painted with flat black, if you do not wan the hassle of removing the old covers.Larry

I didn't even think it was tape looking at mine. I thought the mothership put it on with paint and ground glass.

I thought the mothership put it on with paint and ground glass. I got to thinking that, when time to replace the original non-skid tape, if a product like Roller Rock would be a good option? It's a paintable stone coating by a company called Daich Coatings out of Canada. I applied this product to my rear cement patio almost 2 years ago and am getting ready to do the front patio soon. I waited because I wanted to see how it holds up to the temperature changes we get up here in the mountains, and so far it looks great! The ground up stone in the product acts as a non-skid material, though not nearly as coarse as the stuff LD uses.It comes in a variety of colors, so may work for any LD. Not sure how it would stick to metal and the vibrations of a vehicle, though.RollerRock - Decorative Concrete Coating

They weren't slippery when wet and covered with fish slime. But that doesn't mean these are the same. Some of these mats are a harder material that can be slippery whenwet. Thats one reason I haven't ordered any. I want to see them first hand before buying them.
