Towing a Mustang March 25, 2017, 10:44:33 am Anyone towed a mustang on trailer behind a LD?My mustang is about 3500 lbs plus 1300 lb aluminum trailer. This exceeds LD 4000 lbs limit. Any recommendations on how I can tow mustang with LD? Any acceptable upgrade that can accomplish this safely?Thanks Ron

They installed a frame-extension-mounted upgraded hitch on my TK (in conjunction with fabricating a scooter rack). They did very fine work. Allegedly, the new hitch will pull 10k pounds. That, of course, would exceed the capabilities of the Ford chassis, but it should be able to handle your intended load. -- Jon 1 Likes

The trailer I want would require even more space. Probably be a pain to haul a trailer. The 26.5' rigs were built on the E450 previously, but 2003 was the first model year that the short rig was built on the E450 chassis. Lots of CCC in the little guys! (Not many places to put much, but a lot of CCC! ) 2 Likes
