24 Twin King Model
New on this forum, learning to navigate...please advise on the sleeping comfort of the foam twin beds and the insert that makes into a king.  Also, what is the wattage of the standard inverter as an inverter is not listed on the pricing/spec sheet?  We're looking to buy new so information from late model owners could perhaps be more relevant than earlier models.
Thank You

May depend on model and year. I've had 3 and two were absolutely stellar but one was a bit to soft. Still way better than most models - no bottoming out - perfectly comfortable, no back pain in the morning. Just try it to be sure.

It's an individual thing.
Our 2003 FL's bunk and couch are too hard for me to sleep comfortably, for others, they are perfect.
Either way, the cushions are high quality and will retain the same characteristics for many years.
We use a 3" memory foam pad on the bunk to keep me happy. My wife would be happy without it.

LD began to use memory foam for the couches and overcab bed with the 2013 models; I don't know whether the entire cushion/pad is memory foam or if the core is standard latex foam with a memory foam "wrap" or overlay. I also don't know the grade of memory foam used in LDs; memory foam is not only available in various thicknesses, but in various densities, quality, and resistance to "break down", including areas of compression and "sag".

IMO, a more reliable indicator of how well the stuff lasts and how comfortable it is would be (as you suggested in your inquiry) actual use reports from owners of 2013 and post-2013 rigs, so I hope some owners of newer rigs offer their experiences.

My rig is a 2003; I do use a 3" dense memory foam pad over the pad in the cabover bed, but if it becomes unsatisfactory in any way, I can change it. Without a lot of reconstruction of the cushions/pads and the associated hassle and expense, this would not be realistic to do in a newer rig with memory foam.

I hope that you receive opinions from owners of 2013 and newer models.

Owner of 2014 TK aka Baxter the Travel Turtle.    Sleeping comfort is a personal thing.    I can sleep on a bed of rock in the busy airport terminal (don't ask how I know) with not problems.   DW was/is not on broad with the level of comfort/uncomfort.

Know for more information then you ever wanted to know about us --  We have different sleeping habits.  Sooo I sleep in the overhead bunk with our two cats.    She sleeps on the rear left side couch/bed.     I sleep on the bare pad - no added pads.   She has one or two homemade 3 inch cotton pads she puts on the couch/bed.     There are a few times a year we bring the grandkids on the road with us.    The sleeping areas do get a good workout.

Soooo my very personal experiment  ---- wear and tear - not an issue so far.

Unless something has changed since 2004, there is no insert...the two couches slide out and meet to make a king-size bed.

I found the couch very comfortable to sleep on sans any type of pad.  YMMV.

The only problem I have seen with memory foam pads is that, after a decade or more, they become senile and lose their memory.
Our 13 year old memory foam pad was recently changed due to it forming depressions, where we sleep. It felt like we were starting to roll into holes.
Not bad for around 1300 nights.  Costco stocks the replacement.

Maybe the OP is not aware there is not insert or platform installed between the couches like in some RVs to form the king size bed.  Instead base or seating platform of the two couches slide together to form a king size bed.  The back rest cushions are sized to make up the difference in space.  A very nice arrangement.  One can configure twin beds; a full size bed (and a twin or unmodified couch); as well as a king.
I do not own a TK but have a MidBath which as a similar bed/living area setup.  I'll not comment on the cushions as my LD is older (2007) and the cushions are different than the new ones.

Unless it's raining, I always sleep outside. I've got this for a sleeping pad:

Amazon.com : Big Agnes Air Core Pad : Sports & Outdoors

And this for a sleeping bag:

Versalite | Western Mountaineering

I love to cowboy camp; that is, no shelter ie tent, tarp, etc. My set-up is super warm and comfortable.

I've also got a great tent for backpacking, but if the weather is bad when we're using the RV, well, that's the reason we got it in the first place.
