The Oldest LDO Forum Reply - A Long Time Ago
Just in case one might ask, the oldest LDO Forum reply by an active member of this Forum is HILOLA some 17 years ago at Interior Photos?

And the oldest LDO Forum Topic started by an active member is Michelle C also some 17 years ago at Finding used (was Welcome mkcspuds!)

17 years ago was just about the time of the Y2K scare,  the NY Yankees won the World Series, and DW and I still had kids living at home.  At the least, one could say that was a long time ago.

(Footnote:  While there may be older replies and topics, these came from looking at the Yahoo Archive).

Wow, it's been a long time!  I was known as ld671, aka Luckydog671, back then and was co-moderator of the precursor to the LWALD forum, "Love My Lazy Daze RV," along with Steve B. (aq433).  Michelle was one of the original members, back in the day!

Rob Haerr was the 1st moderator, right? And you and Steve took over after he left? Anyone know what happened to Rob?

The name Bob Haerr seems familiar to me, as well as the title "Love My Lazy Daze RV", but I can't say for sure that is when I joined.  It was some time around the turn of the century, after having owned our [then] Lazy Daze since 1991.

Chris ... take a look at this video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyEh5clGg0s

This video includes a person named Rob Haerr with a group in what looks like a LD MB.  The name of the group is The Ravelers.  So does this help?

Yes, that's Rob in the video and yes he was in the band mentioned. Rob is the fellow I bought my '85 from in 1999.  He bought a new LD, that's why he sold the '85. I haven't heard from him in years. He lived in Rancho Cucamonga.

The person who was the moderator of the forum before Steve and I was a gentleman who went by the handle of "liefethecat" I never met him. The old forum was virtually dead when "Leif" asked me to take it over. I asked Steve B. to be my co-moderator since I was a newbie and Steve had a vast amount of knowledge and technical ability. Together, we helped to revive the forum. I think Larry Wade was around at that time, as well as Chris and Michelle.

I subsequently sold my '85 and dropped out of the forum, and Steve carried on. As Paul Harvey used to say, now you know the rest of the story!

Greg, thanks for this bit of forum history. I've bookmarked it in case such questions come up in the future. And thanks to you and Steve for reviving the forum! The rest of the story is a very positive one.

Wow...

I just got an email from Chris and found this new forum. Nice to see a few posts asking about me...and even a video clip! I was not considered a moderator...just one of the first guys to spout a lot about Lazy Daze. I live nearby the mothership, visit occasionally to get stuff, talk to Steve and Todd, see what's new.

I am not in the video that is posted, as I was driving us (The Ravelers) to a gig in the Bay Area. But...here is another clip where the guys complain about I-5 on that trip...

To see more about what I've been up to over the last decade-plus, here is my YouTube channel (not much about the LD)...

We still have our 2000 26.5 Mid Bath...love it. It has about 66,000 miles, looks and runs fantastic. Hard to believe it's 17 years old  already! Here is my Facebook page if you would like to connect there. There are lots of photos of roadtrips, and other stuff...

When I see a mid-80s LD in brown I look for that 671 over the cab. Where did it go, Greg?

If you like old rock n roll and old guys trying to stay 16...

Looking forward to posting about parts I need for my awning. Need to upgrade the sound system and TV set-up, too. Still the original and technology is moving too fast! My CD changer stopped working and cannot find a replacement!!!

Cheers!

Great to hear from you, Rob, and glad you are doing well and still have your "new" rig! I thought that was you in the video on the right holding the guitar but forgot you are the drummer.

I sold LD671 in September, 2004 to a guy named Mike Marquez in Atascadero. I still have the bill of sale. Never saw it after that so not sure where it might be now. She had 53,724 miles on her at time of sale.

Look forward to chatting with you on the forum and maybe even meeting in person!  This is a great group of folks!

When is the "GTG"? We were going March 10 to see the sea glass event in Cayucos, but called out of town on a business trip.
