Lazy Daze spotted on facebook. February 18, 2017, 10:48:46 am I was browsing through PanAmerican Travelers association via fb and I noticed a gentleman who was selling a LD from Chile in June. It made me wonder how LD was transported to Chile. Many roads, countries in the south of the border, are narrow and definately not to par of US standard roads. I'm not sure if it is still for sale nor if the seller is a scammer, but in good faith you can find him on facebook for those who are interested. I would personally like to hear about his adventure with LD in South America. I would like to plan a trip similar to this in the future. Has anyone been further south than Mexico with their LD? Thank you -Dave

That would be quite the adventure!Yes indeed. I monitor the Panamerican traveler association site, and many do ship their vehicle upon arrival at Panama. Regardless whether he drove it part of the way and/or shipped it, i must say it is very adventurous and courageous to take a LD, 26 footer into these narrow roads. 1 Likes
Re: Lazy Daze spotted on facebook. Reply #3 – February 18, 2017, 02:37:38 pm The OP post may have answered one question that I've had in the back of my brain. Where is the most southern destination for any Lazy Daze RV? Looks like Chile may be in the running. I've also wondered about the most northern destination too. Seems I read somewhere that one of the LD Faithful made it to Barrow, AK. At the least, that northern destination should also be in the running for the furthest north. 1 Likes

Reply #4 – February 18, 2017, 02:56:53 pm As I recall, there was a family on the Yahoo LDO last year this time who wanted to buy a Mid-Bath and drive it down to South America. They asked a lot of good questions but seemed unprepared for many of the answers given here. Maybe they made it? ~Liam 98~MB 1 Likes

That is, after all, the very reason for the Iditarod Race.By road I seriously doubt... By sea, maybe!

The trip was from the Llanos of Venezuela up through the Andes to the ciry of Merida. There were no guard rails on a narrow road with drops of a thousand feet straight down. i was absolutely terrified. Of course my Venezuelan wife and inlaws were having a great time drinking beer, playing guitars, and making fun of the big sissy gringo curlud up in a fetal position and wimpering in the corner. The scenery in Merida was beautiful. The trip was horrifying. 4 Likes

I think you're correct. So that Northern LD record remains unanswered.
