Re: How's The Weather In Your Neck Of The Woods? Reply #62 – March 06, 2017, 04:34:49 pm Sunny, just a bit chilly in So Cal, but I still have my shorts on. Of course, chilly means about 65 degrees. The weather is just about the only reason to live in Southern California though. Happy Trails,Jules 2 Likes

Re: How's The Weather In Your Neck Of The Woods? Reply #64 – March 06, 2017, 06:19:17 pm Still windy but in the low 80's at Foss State Park, OK. With winds blowing a steady 30 mph and gusts much higher I decided to just sit this day out here. I do not especially enjoy driving the MB in wind so spent the day reading, catching up on the net, and making the rig ready for a long drive tomorrow. John DO7 MB 1 Likes

Somebody needs to tell Mother Nature that Spring has sprung!Don't stop yet!Parts of Central and Southern California are still, technically, in drought. The reservoirs and ground water water storage basins have not been refilled. We need a lot more rain to get back to where we should be.In some area the ground water basins have been so depleted that they have sunk and probably will never regain the same storage capacity.Check the local well levels in your home town of Tehachapi. A work friend owns a place up on the mountain and his well went completely dry several years ago and has not yet recovered. Larry
Re: How's The Weather In Your Neck Of The Woods? Reply #67 – March 20, 2017, 08:58:34 pm Water is strange. My late Grandmother sold her water rights to Agua Fria out near Phoenix. When the water ran out, I believe that's all she wrote. Not exactly sure what happens underground, but when a well runs dry isn't that the end of it unless you drill deeper.Kent

LarryLarry, I wasn't trying to imply that we are out of the woods yet, just that the rain and snow are getting a little old up here and I'm ready for Spring. Hard to get our garden going when it's still snowing. We can certainly use lots more precipitation! Here is our forecast for this week. The good news is we head for San Diego on Friday! What part of Tehachapi does your friend live in? I'm assuming it's a private well?

Re: How's The Weather In Your Neck Of The Woods? Reply #70 – March 22, 2017, 10:11:29 pm So we left Boreggo Springs on Monday the first day of spring, it was about 80 degrees around 10am but had been 98 the day before "the first day of Spring". We drove to Mammoth Mountain and noticed people in T shirts in Bishop just below Mammoth mtn around 8pm, it was warm with cool breezes. We skied a day later with snow and ice pellets, 25mph winds gusting to 40+ and about 25 degrees. All on the day after the first day of spring! Maybe we should have waited a few more Days? Close call last night with 80 mph winds in our neighborhood. In addition, baseball size hail 5 miles north of us. Nasty night for many in this area. Our family and friends are safe and didn't have any serious damage ... a tree limb or fence section.See softball-size hail, damage from severe weather in North Texas | Weather...We just got lucky this time.
