I'd give up my Lazy Daze for this.
As much as I like my Laze Daze, at times I find myself lusting after some sort of toy hauler to carry my motorcycle with.
Most of the US made ones are crap, I found one in Europe that looks like well made and thought out.
Wish we could get some of the cool RV's that they have overseas.

With the Euro down to $1.06, this may be the time to pick up this beauty, they're only asking 200,000.
Does seem a little steep for a seven year vehicle, try low balling them.

It's only a dream, but a good dream.

It's custom made, so I can see how it's original cost might have been significantly more.
So the 200,000 might not be so pricey.
I really like the Sprinter, that setup would be nice for many uses. Double cab, diesel and 4WD.

Unless Sprinters in Europe have a greater GVWR and towing capacity, at 11,030-lbs and 7500-lb, this rig is at the limit or over.
I would like to see its actual weight.
With only 188-hp, about the same as many small cars, it will not be a ball of fire to drive.
On steep upgrades, we pass Sprinter Class Cs, when they are puling a toad, then we get passed by diesel pickups, pulling  40' toy boxes. I want more horsepower and torque, not less.
Ford, please give us the turbocharged, innercooled diesel, out of the pickups. It would make me happy.

I agree, the Sprinter makes a nice light duty platform.
I keep hoping Lazy Dazes makes the move over the F series truck chassis, and soon.
Be nice to have diesel power and better performance with better carry capacity in a Laze Daze.

I'm not sure how much longer I can wait though.I'm in the market for a new RV and if LD doesn't make
a change soon I'm gong to have to look elsewhere. I see Born Free now has a truck option and there are
more and more Super C's coming along as well. Dynamax has the new Isata 5, built on a Dodge with a Cummins, also available with 4wd. Retails for about $180,000, deals online at $140,000

As long as the extra 3' of length doesn't bother you, the F-series would offer a better ride, along with the diesel.

I still keep hoping Ford will just redesign the E450's cab to accept the V-8 diesels and up the GVWR.
Now that Ford is building aluminum pickups, an aluminum E450 cab is a possibility.
With the newer technologies available, Ford should be able to significantly increase the power, GVWR and mileage of their twenty year old E450 chassis.
The latest generation of big semi-trucks and trailers are capable of getting much better mileage than our existing LDs, so there is plenty of room for improvements. Appears there is no need to downsize.

This is the twenty year anniversary of the V-10, one of the longest continuously produced automotive engines, one that is very durable and obsolete. Time for a change.

The E Series cutaway chassis doesn't have much longer to live. It along with the V-10 have served their purpose very well over the years but change is coming. I've accepted the advantages as well as the limitations of using a van front end for an RV.
Since I've had mine almost 10 years now I have come to the conclusion that I would like more leg room and an easier chassis to do engine repair work on. And, F series chassis are available in a variety of lengths and GVRW capacity, making it a choice with many options available for building a variety of sized RV's
Using a truck chassis would alleviate these issues so I have concentrated my search on using a truck front end for my next RV.
Leaving Laze Daze off the table, something I wish I did not have to do. The Laze Daze product has so many of the features I want on my next rig (huge windows are impossible to find elsewhere) but I'm afraid that they will not be changing anytime soon.

Jota,
I ran into someone who had a semi truck cab (just the cab - an extra big one), pulling his travel trailer (nice long one), pulling his toy trailer (a big one, if I remember right 12' or longer), pulling his toad (full size suv).
He was adamant about having a travel trailer as he said there are times your vehicle need repairs and then you don't have your home so never considered an motor home.  He had a family so lots of toys.
I am thinking wow, he is driving this big long train of stuff, and yup, that semi truck cab power needed.
But I was just shaking my head (inside) and having to maneuver around turns and in parking lots.....

But if that is your hearts desire... It is an available choice.

Steve S. that was my reaction, no windows... get me outside.

That is my problem. Every other RV I look at has tiny windows, often in the wrong locations.
I'm spoiled by my huge windows and loathe to give them up.
At this point my only choice is to go custom, and my wallet doesn't allow that so I keep on searching for
as built RV's that can get as close to my wish list as possible.

My partner has a Freightliner pulling a 43' DRV Elite Suites that is not a toy hauler. The combo is very long
but the Freightliner pulls it like it's not even back there. The truck and trailer combo actually has a decent turning radius for something so long.

I don't need a huge space and that has been a problem finding RV's using a truck front end. Most are over 30' and I want something around 27'.

Jota, I agree.  Big windows is one of the reasons Lazy Daze is our favorite.  We will take that over all other potential features.

I have wondered if Born Free would do custom windows (as they do tons of customizing), but their tanks are smaller and we want to full time out in nature (boondocking) in the future, so larger tanks matter.  They might do tons of customizing but I can see the $$ rising and we can live with what Lazy Daze offers.

We also want the smaller RV to get into the national parks and out of the way places so under 30' is a requirement.

OK. I suppose if I won multiple lotteries, I would get this.
This one is 35' so doesn't meet the length requirement but it will get you to way out places.
This design looks to have decent sized windows in strategic locations. Around the back looks like plenty of light coming in.
Earthroamer so it will be close to $750,000 by the time they get done. The smaller ones are over $500,000 but if you want to get out there with plenty of water, power and comfort, they are hard to beat.

I cannot look on the UNICAT site much anymore. I get so much wanderlust that I almost want to cry.

They have one that I like for it's compactness. Able to be transported in a standard shipping container to make getting it across the pond more reasonable. A kind of less is better approach.

"Hot tub, water conserving toilet"

Hard to imagine any toilet saving enough water to fill a hot tub!  ;-)

We've seen a couple of these (who knows, maybe the same one) over the last few years in various places along our travels.  Last time was in Natchez (West Vidalia, LA about 16 months ago) accompanied  by many gallons of some fluids stored outside.  Didn't look like a good time, no matter the contents of the "gallons."  But we can give some rave reviews to a local restaurant!

And as some have said, it's the windows, folks, it's the windows!

In 2012, I took a trip to Melbourne FL and stayed at Jetty Park.  I was in the overflow parking and was parked next to this.  A French woman and her daughter were doing a little touring.

I did not know it when I reserved the spot, but there was a space launch while I was there.  It was the first year mark for me owning the Lazy Daze.

Back on topic, the two women were on a round the world tour.  Went from France down through Africa, across the Atlantic to South America then up to Alaska.  Toured some of Canada and migrated into Florida to escape the cold (this was FEB 2012).  They were next headed to SC to catch a boat to back home to France.   The best quote, my brother asked what place she liked the most.  She replied the next one but that was tied with the place she was setting at the moment.

off topic but I like this shot better, you know just a break from a rambling long winded story

A little perspective with these type of RVs.  You sit up high.  Very high.  That is good for seeing down the road and for ground clearance.  Not so good for climbing into the cabin.  The woman hurt her knee climbing into the coach and had to be taken to the emergency room after falling down the ladder one morning.

I might have a few questions for this brave couple.  Like, do you need a driver?  :)  And I am certain that they would smile and say non, merci.  What wonderful stories they must have.  And so it goes.

Lately, I've been in the search mode for new RV's that use the Ford F550 4x4 as a base.
I have seen them priced from the mid $100,000 on up to over $500,000 for the really
fancy expedition rigs. Ford changed the Superduty recently and many companies have
redesigned their products to match.
So far, I like this one from Global Expedition. Don't know anything about the Armor Vision glass windows being touted, but they look nice. Overall seems like a nice setup with options galore for interior layouts, which is nice to have available.

Now, these are definitely "all-terrain vehicles"! Most of them do look like garbage trucks, but the F550 set-up is very appealing!  Maybe in another lifetime.....!  ;)

Larry, the outfit that you saw in DV was probably a GlobalX.
