Framing schematics January 27, 2017, 10:32:37 am Do any of you know if there are readily available framing schematics for a 26.5 RB? I am asking because I want to know where I could locate appropriate blocking beneath the aluminum skin for securely mounting window awnings on the street side, and switching out the Famina for a standard roll-out awning on the curb side. I can see nails to holding the Luann plywood panels. I found studs with the stud finer in the interior walls. Will a stud finder work from the inside of exterior walls?

LDs are built off full-size templates, not blueprints.Your best bet is to reach through the photo files for LDs under construction. Many folks have taken photos of the their rigs, while under construction, and posted them in the files.Larry

It does make sense that looking for the cabinetry mounts will translate to a wooded stud. Some careful measuring should then allow me to locate the same stud from the outside, right? It's inside the walls and above the floor so the water isn't likely to freeze.In picture 72 you can see the propane tank on the far left side of the photo and the grey water tank in the center. The black water tank would be forward of the grey tank and not visible in these photos.Ed

I got funny looks - lol. But after I hung around a while I was shown a LD that had walls up with styofoam in the walls but no outside skins and some electrical lines were pointed out.Jane
Re: Framing schematics Reply #11 – January 31, 2017, 06:55:35 pm For whatever it's worth I have seen window awnings mounted on both sides without regard to frame location. The skin is rather rigid.Second, you can always park E-W putting the sun on the front and rear.
