Re: Yet another internet scam. FamilyTreeNow Reply #3 – January 25, 2017, 12:02:32 pm Seems like another wack-a-mole scenario, you can shut one down and six more pop up.They still have your data and so do dozens of other companies. Seems kind a of futile.Data never dies....except when you accidentally erase a big project that you have been working on for days.Larry 1 Likes

More often if working on a particularly important project? Save it to a thumb drive every hour while you are working on it? At the very least, make a duplicate document of the text on your hard drive for quick access and safety??? Virtual hugs, Judie

But, nonetheless, as you say, it DOES happen, and that sinking feeling can be avoided with just a bit of finger tapping. ALTHOUGH - once in a while the rewrite may be a bit more succinct than the original!

Re: Yet another internet scam. FamilyTreeNow Reply #8 – January 26, 2017, 03:37:36 pm Thx for the heads' up...though I am apparently blessed by insignificance because the search said something to the effect of "no results found" (though I did get a frowny face for that)...so I guess there's nothing for me to opt out of.
