Are these indicator of possible issues?
Lady and Gentleman,

I am obviously new at this... so please be patient with me.  I have attached some photos and I was wondering if these are indicators of major issues with my LD.  I would value your thoughts and opinions.  Thank you.

Dave, the only photos that I could see problems with are those of the rear corner rounds. The others are too broad to tell much.

Those rear corners are definitely compromised. In most Lazy daze this is not necessarily a significant problem. The wood behind those corners was usually sealed and the rounds are just a trim piece.

Check inside the rear end especially under the back window for mildew and rot. There are plenty of recent threads here about inspecting for rot.

Once you have determined there is no internal damage (hopefully), it's time to get those seams cleaned and resealed. Again, many good threads about this here.

Upfront, my knowledge is not as comprehensive as many on this site being a fairly recent first owner of a LD ('02) myself.  That said, I have read the many posts on this subject, and have been through the task of eternabonding the roof, and resealing the windows and end caps personally.

I would say the end caps show neglect and need prompt attention.  The window caulking appears to also warrant a clean out and reapplication. 

The roof seal appears to be aged, and likely needs to be addressed, but it's hard to tell from the photos how immediate this needs to be done. 

Hopefully there is no water ingress from these areas already.

THank you for your feedback.  At this present time,  I am intending to call the factory, and make an appointment to get factory sealed, maybe sometime in June.   With my limited knowledge of RVs, I didn't smell any order of mold/ mildew when I was inside the LD.  Hopefully there is no mold.   :D

If you're referring to the roof seams, a DIY Eternabond job can save you big bucks and it's not a high-skill-required type job.

The split vertical seam is mostly cosmetic, the top piece of cap overlaps the lower piece.  The motion, while driving,  between the two pieces tears the vertical seal apart.  Not liking the look, I cut narrow strips of Eternabond to cover the gap,  permanently solving the problem.

The rest of the caps probably do need to be sealed, can't tell for sure due to the limited photos, but from experience, they usually do on an this LD's age.
The same goes for the window seals, the Factory sealant shrinks and forms valleys, between the window and its frame, this can break the seal and provides a place where water can sit.

As mentioned, the roof seals are gone and need to resealed, as well as top coating all the exposed sealant around the vents and antennas.
Eternabond tape, 3M 5200 FastCure polyurethane and Dicor roof sealant are your friends.

This should take care of all the common spots where aging LDs start leaking.
 I have posted dozens of times, pertaining to resealing LDs windows, roof and end caps.
Search the archives under my user names, Larry Wade and Laramie RT, for resealing instructions and hints.

Larry, when you say the sealant arount the roof vents and antenna should be "top coated", are you saying that you would just add a layer of sealant on top of the old yellowed factory sealant? What product would you use, the Dicor self leveling sealant? And would you leave the existing sealant intact or remove it?

What about the thick sealant around the luggage rack mounting points?

  Well, I am willing to cough up some money at Montclair LD, and have them look over other stuff as they work on the seals and etc.    Maybe after LD factory put in some work re sealing the seals, I can put Eternalbond over it?    Is this overkill?   Regardless, I would like to take it over to the factory and have them do some sort of inspection which I failed to do.

Thanks for your feedback. Greatly appreciated!  I juggle with time at the moment with work and etc...  I am anticipating sometime in Spring or Summer, I can look into these projects and also driving it over to Montclair LD factory.   I am just gathering much information from other LDOs as possible.   In my superficial perspective there was no evidence of leak inside the LD, and I did not smell any odor of mold or mildew.  ANd I am hoping that I am right....  but I am also prepared for the worst case scenario.       V/R - Dave

In my opinion, for what it's worth, if you have the resources and the time, relying on the factory may give you the most comfort considering you are new to this game. As you acquire knowledge and thence confidence you can start doing your own maintenance. Until then I would have no reluctance to letting the factory bring it up to speed.  ;)
