"  Would you know where the extra 4" is, is it that the seat can be pushed back another 4", or leaned back another 4"?  "

I don't know the answer to your question, Bonnie, but I do know that there are a bunch of LD drivers that are well over 6' and they seem to manage just fine.
The only way to know, of course, is to sit in the seat and give it a try before you buy.

I have a conference I have to go to in May so we could not get to NC until Saturday afternoon.  Not sure if that would be too late.

Bonnie, it won't be too late to come.  I'm sure the group would welcome you to tour and to include you in the daily festivities.  Just let us know for certain you are coming when we get closer to the date.  We are real low key and the uniform of the day is really casual.  We look forward to meeting you in Mt Airy.

The pocket guide, there is a link in the welcome section, said the MidBath had three extra inches legroom in 2008.
In the past I could swear I saw Ford added 4 inches to the cab area with the other two inches or so going in front of the firewall.  I can't document that or provide even a he said she said link.
At 5'6" the post 08 I sat in at a get to gather had much better leg room in front particularly for the passenger.  The pasenger's footwell still got narrow at the front of the RV, but with the extra seat travel that is not as big a deal.  I liked the cab chairs better when compared to the ones in the 07.

Sounds great, we will try to make it to Mt Airy.  I will let you know as the time gets closer.

I am confused about what is in Mt Airy and what is in Galax, VA?  Can you explain it?  This is what the site says:
Our Spring 2017 Rally will be held in Mt. Airy, NC and Galax, VA in conjunction with the Southeast Lazy Daze Caravan Club. Dates will be May 17 - 21.

Does it start in Galax and then you all drive to Mt Airy?  How does this work?  Where is everyone from May 17-May 21?
Thanks,
Bonnie

When we decided to replace my 1992 MB I'd had for seventeen years we thought about other floor plans. But we circled back around to the midbath. Love the widows in back and the king size bed. We used to sleep across the coach but have switched to lengthwise. We do use two deluxe twin size toppers and are very comfortable. We roll up the toppers and stow them in the cabover. At night hubby walks the dogs one last time while I make up the bed. When the "travasak" type bedding I originally bought from the mothership wore out I ordered an RV Supperbag. Really nicely made and Quick and easy to make the bed.

Realize if you remove a sofa you will loose the storage on that side. One of the benefits of the mid-bath is the super amount of storage!

The cab seat can be pushed back or the seat back can be tilted more or a little of both. Helpful but my 6' 2" guy with a very long trunk wishes it was more!  Definite improvement over the pre 2000.

My husband is 5'11" and he has his driver seat set comfortably with still 4 and 1/2 inches to spare between the shortest distance from the back of the seat to the refrigerator cabinet wall, meaning he still has 4 and a half inches to push his seat back if he wish.  After my husband did a test drive before our ordering, he was relieved to find the handling pretty good.  Also, I see that you are interested in a 31' LD. Just want to point out that the 27' will have couple thousands more pounds of carrying capacity than the 31' before it reaches the limit. The 31' will have a longer rear overhang. We tow a honda crv with bike racks and advance element inflatable kayak in the trunk. We also has big foot automatic leveler installed which we wouldn't want to do without.  Hope this help and good luck in your quest for the perfect coach. It's a good idea to really take your time.

Hi Bonnie.  The campground is in Mt. Airy NC.  This is where we will meet and work out details for the rest of the gathering.  We will drive either our rigs or tow cars to Galax for events.  Our group has come back to the Galax VA area (including Mt. Airy) because we had such a fun time there a couple of years ago.  We learned about "old time" music vs "bluegrass" vs "country", and some members even took some dance lessons offered by a local group.  This area of the country is known for its "old time" music, and on the nearby Blue Ridge Parkway, there is a cultural center for this music which features walk-on musicians for an open jam on select days.  On Friday night, the Rex theater in Galax comes alive with live music and dancing.  So, we will in our own way find things to do in the area, sometimes by group, other times individually.  The two of us will spend some time exploring in Mt. Airy as well.

On one of the evenings we will have a group dinner at a restaurant, another night we will have a pot luck dinner at the campground, and usually on Saturday night we will have a fun auction at the campground.  These are generalities, and details can change as we get closer to the date.  Keep checking the NELD website for further details.  I hope this helps.
