Any Opinions on 31 IB
By chance has anyone looked at the unit below? We live in Michigan and can't fly out at the drop of a hat. We like the 31 BWB for its queen bed.

2012 Lazy Daze 31IBWB LAZY DAZE, Madera CA - - RVtrader.com

It is still available per the dealer today and has been for sale for couple weeks so I am suspicious. The driver side rear tire has spare installed and looks like original tire in a storage cabinet.

We were looking at other rv's but the LD is growing on us quickly!

Happy New Year!

Hey, Ron -- I think if you search the forum there is a lot of discussion abut the 30 footers vs. 26 footers.  Many, if not most, responses are that the longer 30 foot chassis is very near its total weight limits and leaves only limited storage and cargo capacity.

We have now been full timing in our 06 for over 8 years. Yes, I wish it had more CCC and the limitation is why we don't have levelers or 4 batteries instead of 2. That said, we have been comfortable in it and keep an eye on weight and, for the most part stay close to the limit. Based on that experience I don't have concerns about the weight issue.

Were you able to find out any more info on this one?  Looks like it's still for sale.
Thanks,

My wife is not enambered with the look of the 31BWB unit. A little too retro. It is exactly the layout we like, however. She also prefers a slide or two or three. So I think we need to view one in person. Unfortunately we live in Michigan and not many LD around here. Next time we visit grandkids in Vegas I will try to plan an short trip over to the mother ship. Perhaps viewing a LD in person and touching it may sway her to the LD side.

I have been looking for a MH for two years and not even close to finding the right one. Phoenix Cruiser, Coach House and Born Free all have good points.  I am 6'2" and the PC Is a head bumper. BR just too expense.  Out of the three CH is favorite. If I could find one at decent price I could live with the close quarters and limited storage. Love the CH single form! We will be in Florida soon, maybe we visit the factory?

Hope everyone has had a great new year thus far!

Keep in mind a 31-ish foot long coach with multiple slides will likely have no remaining CCC to bring things with you.  Slides add a lot of weight to a coach and take up storage space to boot.  If you really require slides, consider looking at class A's instead (unless you can find clothing optional restaurants for all your meals ;-) )

I normally don't do marriage counseling but in your case, I suggest renting a couple different RVs, to find out what is acceptable to your better half.
Try with and without slides.
Might save a long, difficult search for an elusive LD.

We bought our 2003 IB30 exactly 6 yrs ago w/20K miles... now @ 42K, camped in Yuma, after Qsite and the LD Caravan at LaPaz/Parker, AZ.  We began in 2007 with a '96 Midbath; we traded up to get a living room floor plan and still glad we did.
Our IB30 two limitations:  1] takes a mile to make a 180° turn (with my wife covering her eyes)  2] weight, like everyone mentions. We so wanted install sat.dish on roof, but settled for Tailgater (DISH). Do have levelers which for us are a must-have. Recently upgraded entertainment to 42" LED on a swing arm that works great. Since most outings are 2-4 weeks only, we keep storage stuff to absolute minimum; ie. not bbq grill, or heavy tools, or etc. etc.  also a factor in shopping!!
>> Wishes/Wants?  • replace barrel chairs (been looking for years)  • replace lights wLEDs
••• For prospective LD buyers - Larry's advice = rent and try is solid and sound. 2nd best = go out of your way to find friendly LD owners who will gladly "show & tell" for you.

Thank you Glenn and Lynne for your kind offers to view your LD. Lynne being in MS is just too far. Hopefully we can set something up with Glenn. Glenn is only about 30 minutes away. I like the Mid Bath layout so seeing Glenn's would be nice.

This forum is awesome. LD owners are awesome.

Have a great day,

Separate discussion of TV retrofit has been split off and moved to its own topic here
