Re: emissions recall 15E05 FOR 2011 THRU 2016 MODELS for 6.8L V10 Reply #1 – December 15, 2016, 06:02:11 pm I had this update done about one month ago. It was a computer re-program service done by the Ford Truck shop where I have most of our service done. It took about 45 minutes, and from what I can understand, if it is NOT done, it will no longer pass emission inspections in Cali. and I think Mass.We took two short drives after the service, one about 30 miles, and one about 11 miles, rolling hills, stop and go traffic, and did not notice any changes in the operation of the truck. Have not tried it yet on an expressway.
Re: emissions recall 15E05 FOR 2011 THRU 2016 MODELS for 6.8L V10 Reply #2 – December 15, 2016, 08:18:53 pm I had it done a few thousand miles ago.No noticeable change in anything.EdBy the way. Since this is a Ford recall, all Ford dealers are required to do the work even if your neighborhood Ford dealer typically doesn't service RV's. The only exception, per the local Ford dealer who does not service RV's, would be a recall that required equipment that the Ford dealer simply did not have. Specifically, a lift that was capable of safely handling the vehicle in question. Since a software update doesn't require a lift, all dealers must do the work.Or so I've been told.

A pure white knuckle ride. I'll never do it again. I can't even imagine doing it in my LD. I'd be camping out on the side of the road in a heart beat. That night, people were literally flying past me like I was standing still. Like banshees wailing through the storm. Absolutely frightening.Honker down my friends. Stay warm and have a hot cup of coffee.Kent

I too would avoid that passage in inclement weather, especially snow, but I've traversed that route any number of times in my 2004 30'IB with blue skies and sunshine.

I believe you are referring to the Siskiyou Pass. The summit is the highest point on I-5. Been there, done that!Siskiyou Pass - Wikipedia

He called the pass part of the Cascades. What do I know? Oh , yeah! I will never drive through "where ever it was" in a rain storm again. Thank goodness I'm part cat, cause that drive took two of my nine lives that very hairy evening.Oh and I haven't checked my vin against the recall list, but so far I'm ok with our '15. Crossing my fingers. Recalls are a real PITA. 😫Kent

Re: emissions recall 15E05 FOR 2011 THRU 2016 MODELS for 6.8L V10 Reply #14 – December 17, 2016, 10:04:18 am Our plan on the days after Christmas is the check the weather all down I-5 from Portland to Redding. If snow and ice is on the table then we'll go from Portland to the coast, then down 101. When coming back home we do the same thing in reverse. I use to live in Rosebrug. Drove to Medford many many times, on rain and sunny days. If us Oregonians on the wet side had to wait for no rain we'd never do anything <smile>.
