Name of your rigs November 11, 2016, 01:08:24 am I was wondering what the members have named their LD's.
Re: Name of your rigs Reply #1 – November 11, 2016, 08:15:04 am We call our rig Cat's Meow. When we get our new 2017 MB this March, it will be Cat's Meow IV. 1 Likes
Re: Name of your rigs Reply #2 – November 11, 2016, 08:37:04 am I've called a few of my vehicles plenty of names, but never "named" one of them! 7 Likes
Re: Name of your rigs Reply #3 – November 11, 2016, 11:10:37 am Any one who has seen my rig would recognize it by the reflective decal on the spare tire cover that says: 'Lazy Bones'.Back when I had a HR Travel Trailer there was a decal on it's spare tire cover that read: Zigeuner Waggon (Gypsy Wagon). Whenever I'd encounter German travelers I would be eyed with suspicion or questioned about the decal... it seems that Gypsys are not well liked in Germany (or several other countries). 2 Likes
Re: Name of your rigs Reply #4 – November 11, 2016, 11:14:24 am I call my rig Tardis. From the Dr Who show, meaning Time and relative dimension in space. But, it could also mean Traveling and relocating discovering interesting stuff. It takes me many places at different times, so the name seems to fit. There used to be a file here that listed names of member's rigs. Maybe someone knows how to find it. 2 Likes

Re: Name of your rigs Reply #6 – November 11, 2016, 11:38:12 am When we first got the rig we had some names lined up but my dear wife, a Long Island refugee, accidentally named it. We call our Mid Bath "DaV" because saying "the R V" is to many words for someone from "The City" to string together. 3 Likes
Re: Name of your rigs Reply #8 – November 11, 2016, 12:41:30 pm "Horatio". Horatio's Drive | PBSI was so impressed with Dr. Horatio Nelson Jackson after seeing this PBS special that I changed the name of our LD from "Daisy" (which many others have used) to "Horatio" in honor of Dr. Jackson's amazing adventure.Chris 1 Likes
Re: Name of your rigs Reply #9 – November 11, 2016, 01:26:06 pm What a great name, Chris! Anybody who hasn't watched Ken Burns's documentary "Horatio's Drive" owes it to themselves to see it. The summary: "On a visionary whim and a $50 bet, Dr. Horatio Nelson Jackson became the first person to drive an automobile across the continent. His arrival in New York City, after every imaginable breakdown and delay, proved that the 'horseless carriage' really did have a future." Amazon Prime members can watch it for free. I liked it enough to buy the DVD so I can watch it again and again. 1 Likes As an Amazon Associate Lazy Daze Owners' Group earns from qualifying purchases.
Re: Name of your rigs Reply #10 – November 11, 2016, 05:07:41 pm We named our MB "Wild Thing" because it was the wildest thing we'd ever done...financially. Also, we're of the time and space when The Trogs' fabulous song "Wild Thing" was a hit...and what's the tag line?..."Wild Thing, I think I love you."TinaP 1 Likes

Re: Name of your rigs Reply #12 – November 11, 2016, 06:20:41 pm Thank you to all for your clever and enlightening names. Chris, thanks for the heads up on the PBS show. I look forward to watching in the very near future. Also, Maurice Sendak's classic book - "Where the Wild Things Are " seems remarkably appropriate! We don't have ours yet but my brain is engaged and anxiously waiting for divine intervention to strike ! And, please, please don't have me calling it names😢 I am hoping everything is perfect and beautiful. Yes, call me a dreamer. 2 Likes

We moved out of a 1750 sq. ft. house into our 30 ft. LD, so we call her "La Casita" (small house or cottage). The wife didn't like my suggestion of calling it "The B-Hive". Apparently right after I posted that link, Amazon changed the status of that documentary from "free to Prime members' to 'Included with Sundance Now on Amazon for $6.99/month'. Well, maybe you can borrow it from a local public library. 1 Likes
